CNA Week, which begins on the Thursday of the second full week of June (this year June 11-17), is a time to celebrate the invaluable contributions of Certified Nursing Assistants.

These healthcare heroes provide essential patient care, often working tirelessly on the front lines. Join us in recognizing their hard work and dedication, advocating for better conditions, and sharing stories of their impact.

"We're so grateful for all of the hard work our CNAs do every single day to help our nurses and physicians," said SCHHC CEO Raymond Hino. "They are a key part of our clinical team and a key part of the patient care experience. Thank you to all of our CNAs. You do a great job and we truly appreciate you."

BANDON – It’s time to get your artwork in order to submit for our next Southern Coos Hospital Quarterly Art Show, which will begin July 6 and run through September.

The theme for this show is: Portrait of Myself or Things I Love.

Art drop-off is Sunday, July 5, from 2-4 p.m. in the hospital lobby. The Opening Reception will be held on Sunday, July 12, from 2-4 p.m., also in the hospital lobby with live music and refreshments.

The Southern Coos Health District budget Committee will hold a Budget Hearing at 6 p.m. Thursday, June 25, prior to the regular SCHD Board meeting, at Southern Coos Hospital & Health Center, 900 11th St. SE, in the hospital conference room.

The purpose of the meeting is to discuss the proposed budget for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2026.

A copy of the proposed budget is available to view or download here: https://southerncoos.org/southern-coos-health-district-notice-of-budget-hearing-june-25-2026/ or can be inspected or obtained in person at the hospital between the hours of 9 a.m.-4 p.m., Monday through Friday.

We are proud to introduce three outstanding new professionals who have joined the Southern Coos Hospital & Health Center family to lead our Senior Life Solutions program. Please join us in giving a warm Bandon welcome to:

Misty Williamson – Office & Patient Coordinator

Our Senior Life Solutions program is a dedicated, intensive outpatient group therapy program designed to support individuals (typically 65 and older) navigating life changes, anxiety, or depression associated with aging. Morgan, Kimberly, and Misty bring a combined wealth of clinical expertise, administrative skill, and deep empathy to our community.

Mark your calendars for tomorrow, Tuesday, June 9, at 12 p.m. Southern Coos Hospital & Health Center is hosting two brief, impactful events in one afternoon at the Warehouse Coffee Cafe.

Help shape the future of local healthcare! What are the most important health needs in Bandon? Southern Coos Hospital & Health Center wants to hear directly from you!

Join us for a community Meet & Greet with Scott McEachern, SCHHC’s Chief Information Officer, to discuss our 2026 Community Health Needs Assessment, on Tuesday, June 9, at 12 p.m., Warehouse Coffee Café, 250 1st St. SW, Old Town Bandon.

Scott will be there to lead a focus group to explain how this survey works and how your input helps us tackle big issues like rural healthcare access, workforce shortages, and the needs of our coastal neighbors. Mark your calendars for Tuesday, June 9, because Southern Coos Hospital & Health Center is hosting two events in one afternoon and we would love to see you there!

1. Shape the Future of Local Healthcare: Our Chief Information Officer, Scott McEachern, will be leading an interactive Focus Group on our Community Health Needs Assessment. This is your chance to share your voice, participate in our important health survey, and directly impact the future of care in our community.

2. Discover the Power of Volunteering: Our Southern Coos Health Foundation Executive Director, Alix Graham McGinley, will share how you can make a real, lasting difference right here at home through rewarding volunteer opportunities at the hospital.
