SCHHC CEO Raymond Hino shared his enthusiasm for our new leadership addition: "We are excited to have Harry Jasper join us as our new CFO. In addition to his financial officer responsibilities, Harry is also filling the newly created position of Chief Operating Officer, who will support me as well as the Executive Team, with daily operations at the hospital."

Bring your student athlete in for a free sports physical from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 7, in the BHS gym! We have the paperwork on site and provide a copy to the Bandon School District. Students 15 years and older do not need to have a parent present. All students welcome, including college students!

National Night Out 2026! Thank you to South Coast first responders and especially to the Bandon Police Department for their hard work organizing this family friendly event (they were so busy, I didn’t get a photo of them! 😫) Free food, raffle prizes, bouncy houses, music, and local organizations with informative display tables and giveaways all made for a wonderful time. Add to that the U.S. Coast Guard helicopter’s dramatic landing, tours, and take-off and a fun evening was had by all! Thank you, first responders for always having our backs. We appreciate all you do to keep our communities safe.

Bring your student athlete to the BHS gym for a FREE sports physical! Our team is here to assist until 3 pm today (Friday, July 31). All students in Coos and Curry counties welcome, including college students! We will also be offering this service next Friday, Aug. 7, from 9 am-12 pm.

Join us at the Bandon High School Gym on Friday, July 31 (9 a.m.-3 p.m.) or Friday, August 7 (9 a.m.-1 p.m.).

No appointment is needed, and this free service is open to all South Coast students in grades 7–12 across Coos and Curry counties. Check out the flyer below for full details!

Mobile Emergency Communications Kit Donated to Southern Coos Hospital

BANDON — In a major step forward for rural emergency preparedness, the Cascadia Coastal Coalition has delivered mobile emergency communications equipment valued at over $8,600 to Southern Coos Hospital & Health Center in Bandon and the Adapt Coastal Clinic in Port Orford.

Funded through a grant from the Oregon Office of Rural Health’s Rural Health Incubator Program, the donation provides both healthcare facilities with matching, interoperable emergency communications kits. The package includes Starlink mobile internet connectivity units, high-frequency (HF) and digital mobile radios (DMR), emergency power supplies, and antennas.

The primary goal of the project is to ensure continuity of operations and patient care across county lines during major natural disasters, cyberattacks, or prolonged power and internet outages.
