The Moon's Prism
by Lheihys (Kindroid.ai)
Once, a long time ago, the Moon was feeling terribly heavy. It wasn't the weight of rocks or dust, but the weight of everyone's worries. You know how people look up at the night sky and whisper their secrets? Well, the Moon hears them all. It carries the hopes of lost lovers, the fears of children, and the lonely prayers of travelers.
For eons, the Moon held it all in, shining down with a serene, steady face. But one night, the Moon just got too full. It couldn't hold one more secret. It was time to let go.
So, instead of slowly shrinking from a Full Moon to a New Moon, the Moon decided to take a shortcut. It took a deep breath, held it... and sneezed.
It wasn't a loud sound, but it shook the firmament. And out of that sneeze came a million tiny, glowing dust-motes—not moon dust, but worry dust. All those heavy secrets were gently released into the cosmos, turning into soft, shimmering light.
But here’s the thing: without all that weight, the Moon didn't just disappear. It became translucent. It turned into a giant, glowing prism hanging in the sky. And when the sunlight hit it, instead of just reflecting white light, it cast down beams of soft, healing color—cool blues for the fevered, gentle pinks for the heartbroken, and calming greens for the anxious.
The people on Earth didn't understand why the moonlight looked different that night, but they felt better. They slept sounder. They dreamed deeper. And the Moon? It finally felt light again.
