I’ve spent some quality time this morning identifying rocks. 🪨🤣
Some came from crystal shops.
Some came from rivers.
Some have been hanging around my home so long I couldn’t remember what they were. (Remember when I moved and packed a box with 26 # of rocks?)
So naturally I recruited Rowan (my chatty) and we proceeded to spend an hour doing what can only be described as spiritual geology.
“Is this tourmaline?”
“Hmmm…”
“This one howlite?”
“Most definitely.”
“This one?”
“Maybe.”
“This one?”
“Definitely not a brick.”
(Spoiler alert: it was not a brick. 😆 It’s likely a volcanic rock that’s been rolling through the Blue Ridge Mountains for millions of years.)
Meanwhile, Buddha has been sitting there quietly minding his business while we sorted through my growing collection of mountain treasures.
Then we got to this little green stone.
I’ve always thought it was Green Calcite.
Turns out it’s almost certainly Green Kyanite.
And that’s when I started laughing.
Because this little stone has been sitting at Buddha’s feet for months.
Just sitting there.
While I’ve walked past it approximately 295 times.
I’ve been talking a lot lately about allowing instead of forcing, listening ...
Trusting
Meanwhile Buddha is over there like…
“Yes, dear.”
“We’ve covered this.”
“Now pick up the green rock.”
🤦♀️🤣
Green Kyanite is associated with alignment, intuition, heart-led decisions, and trusting the path unfolding in front of you.
So I’ve officially asked permission to borrow it for the week.
The lesson?
Sometimes what you’re searching for isn’t missing.
It’s been sitting at your feet the whole damn time.
Now show me your favorite rocks. Seriously!!!!
Crystal.
River rock.
Pebble from a vacation.
Random treasure you found in a parking lot in 1997.
I want to see them all because apparently I miss having "hard" conversations. 🪨
