We’re delighted to recognize our emergency team for their outstanding efforts in responding to a patient experiencing a stroke. Fredalyn Mercado, RN, and Edward Bailey, MD, quickly identified stroke signs and successfully administered life-saving medication within 44 minutes of the patient’s arrival, surpassing the national benchmark by more than 15 minutes. For their exemplary performance, we are proud to present Fredalyn with the Golden Brain Award, which honors those who “Save a Brain” by identifying acute stroke symptoms. Leroy Peyton, one of our volunteers who recently recovered successfully from a stroke, presented the award to Fredalyn. Thank you, Fredalyn, Dr. Bailey and the entire ED team for your commitment to providing exceptional care!
