I used to think the stitches fixed the laceration. Not sure what mechanism was going through my mind. Regardless of whether we use sutures, staples, glue, steri strips or band aids—all our methods of closure primarily do one simple thing—bring the two wound edges together, and enable the body to heal itself. Platelets and clotting factors stop the bleeding, neutrophils and the immune system respond to fight infection that may be invading, keratinocytes (skin cells) migrate across the wound to begin skin formation, followed by Fibroblasts (connective tissue cells) that synthesize collagen, rebuilding the skin. A bit of a miracle. And way more beautiful and sophisticated than my brute Nylon stitch.

Those are my hands putting in those stitches, years ago.

I have a friend in El Salvador, unjustly jailed for being in a gang, facing mass sentencing for life in prison. I’m looking for someone with legal expertise or connections to help him.

One of the most important things to my patience is how they feel. And by that I mean, day-to-day your energy level and your mood, what are the most important things that determine that? And how can you feel better? What can you do to raise your mood and energy level? Without snorting co***ne or drinking 5 cups of coffee

So I was curious what the scientific evidence would say, so I typed it in open evidence, and then I made a bunch of AI content based on that, and I hope it serves as the beginning of a conversation about daily lifestyle habits that impact the way we feel, and what works for you. I’m curious, what would you say are the top three things that determine how you feel?

Camping trip coming up to Gran Tetons, Yellowstone, Glacier National and Banff, with teenage daughter.
Been there? Recs on where to camp and what to do? Please include them below—I never been. We are rolling in a camper van and I’ll pitch a tent.

Yes, I made this with ChatGPT. Not bad, ey?

Men came to me as a doctor for medical reasons.

But they often wanted to talk about what was really going on in their lives, far beyond their blood pressure and cholesterol.

privately, they wanted to talk about their struggles, their victories and their failures. Their worries about the future and their failing marriages. they wanted to talk about all the things that you would never guess is going on when you look at their Instagram reel.

They wanted to be real. And talk about the real s**t going on in their lives.

And so here on social, so do I. No more bu****it.

No more peptides and cold plunges. No magic bean supplements that cure all, nor quick fix pill pushing. Why don’t we actually talk about what is really going on inside.

No. More. Bulls**t.

I led off the first ever Taco Tuesday Karaoke night at La Cabaña. Years from now, people will look back at this moment. Couldn’t have done it without the clapping. And I thought I was just in for some tacos on a Tuesday.
