Heroin's Grip

Heroin's Grip A documentary film featuring stories from the front lines of the he**in epidemic in Frederick County Maryland. There is hope. There is a way out. It’s not!

This documentary is available on DVD and BluRay at www.he**insgripmovie.com and is also available for streaming at Amazon.com Heroin’s Grip is a powerful 67 minute documentary film that tells the story of the he**in epidemic in Maryland, focusing on Frederick County. It explores stories of addiction from the perspective of four families who have been impacted by this epidemic and whose lives have

been, in some cases, forever changed because of it. In addition, the film takes a look at the problem of addiction though the eyes of local law enforcement officers, mental health workers, community leaders and others in order to get a complete picture of the impact that he**in and opioid addiction has on our community. Heroin’s Grip also helps the viewer better understand what happens in the brain when he**in and other opioids are used, and shows the story of a few who are succeeding in overcoming addiction and maintaining a life free from drugs and alcohol. Our goal is to show that help is available, and that there is a way out of addiction and that there are resources available for families and individuals caught up in the tragedy. Help is available.

“The he**in and opioid epidemic has devastated hundreds of families, individuals, and businesses all across our county. We see it in the news nearly every day and it’s easy to think that it’s someone else’s problem. We think that it’s a Frederick or Baltimore issue. It’s in our neighborhoods. My neighborhood. My small town. It’s our community’s problem, and we must work together to solve it. I couldn’t simply stand by and watch, I had to get involved. That’s why I made this film,” – Conrad Weaver, Producer/Director

We want to work with your organization to host a screening event of Heroin's Grip. We’re especially excited about working with organizations who want to be a catalyst for change in their community. We must work together to lead the charge in helping those caught in addiction's web. A screening event like this can bring everyone to the table for a discussion: churches, community leaders, health departments, law enforcement, recovery groups, treatment providers, recovery housing organizations, faith-based groups; when we all work together, change will happen in our community and in the individuals and families impacted by addiction!
