The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) just proposed a new rule that would update what airlines must carry in emergency medical kits, but it falls short on protecting people with food allergies.
While the rule requires airlines be equipped to respond to anaphylaxis (a severe allergic reaction), it does not require modern, easy-to-use epinephrine delivery systems.
The proposal is open for public comment until October 5. Join AAFA in telling FAA we deserve better. Modern, easy-to-use epinephrine will save lives, is cost effective, and is easy to deliver for someone with no medical training.
