You don’t have to wait for someone else to start the conversation about hospice care.

Anyone can reach out to make a referral for someone they love. From there, a physician determines whether the patient meets hospice eligibility requirements, including having a life-limiting illness and a prognosis of six months or less if the illness follows its normal course.

If you’re unsure where to begin, that’s okay. Our team is here to answer questions, explain how to qualify for hospice, and help your family understand next steps💜

We love our trips to Blue Ridge, especially when they include time with the wonderful residents at The Lodge at Blue Ridge ☺️ Whitney and Lynn brought along a refreshing spread of fruit, yogurt, and ice cream, and left with plenty of smiles and warm memories. We recently had the pleasure of visiting Stonehenge Senior Living to join in on some luau fun 🌴 There were tropical treats, refreshing drinks, and smiles all around 😃 There was even a little dancing! 💃

This month, we’re proud to celebrate Shelly Blevens as our Employee of the Month!

Since joining Appalachian Hospice in 2022, Shelly has brought so much compassion and heart to the patients she serves💜

She takes the time to truly know each person, creating special routines, sharing familiar sayings, and even singing songs that makes her care feel personal and comforting.

We believe strong communities are built by people who care enough to stay involved.

Kayla Hubbard, our Senior Community Liaison in Cleveland, GA, had the opportunity to attend the Annual White County Chamber Meeting and celebrate the people and businesses working hard to make White County an even better place to live.

The event was also a great reminder of how important it is to keep our support close to home, from the businesses we shop with to the organizations we choose to support.

That's why we believe it's so important for you to know that hospice care is often covered by Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance. From nursing care to medical supplies and qualifying medications, many of the services patients need are included.

And if your plan is out of network, Appalachian Hospice will work with your insurance provider to help minimize out-of-pocket costs.

Appalachian Hospice recently visited Stonehenge Senior Living to surprise their Activity Ambassador winners with gift bags to celebrate a job well done.
