In Bloom Physio Transformative orthopedic and pelvic floor physical therapy for your active life. Now open in downtown Bloomington, Indiana!

In Bloom Physio provides transformative orthopedic and pelvic floor physical therapy, focused on helping active adults and teenagers decrease pain and pelvic floor dysfunction to achieve their goals for an active lifestyle. Dr. Kristen Lund founded the practice in 2024 on the belief that healthcare can be better than the status quo, and that skilled, compassionate, individualized PT can transform lives. All sessions are 1:1 with a highly skilled Doctor of Physical Therapy who gets to know you as a person and tailors your treatment to your needs and preferences. Patients at In Bloom Physio say “the individual attention is priceless in PT these days,” and “the level of care is significantly higher than traditional PT practices can provide.” They note that “you really feel like you have a partner in your recovery and healing.”

Dusting off the grid to show proof of life! Is this thing still on?

For me and many of the people I work with, life has been FULL lately, both in the office and at home. I’m a firm believer in keeping it real and giving my clients (and myself!) achievable action items that work in real life. So if you’re in a season where your PT exercises need to get done in the bleachers at your kids’ baseball practice, I’ve got you. If you can’t lie on the floor at home without a dog licking your face or a small child climbing on you, I’m right there with you.

I often talk with clients about glass balls vs. rubber balls. Some things need to be prioritized and protected, while others can be dropped for a bit and picked back up when life allows. Right now, my glass balls are my patients, the people reaching out to me for help, my family, and caring for my own health so I can keep showing up for all of them. Social media, on the other hand? A rubber ball.

I’ll be back to posting more regularly eventually, but in the meantime, things may stay a little quiet on the grid. Rest assured, I’m still here and would love to hear from you!

A few quick updates:

🗓️ Office hours: M/T/Th 9-3, F 9-12, by appointment only.

👩‍💻 Getting in touch: The best way to reach me is via the contact form on my website (link in bio).

If you’re dealing with pain or pelvic floor symptoms, and you need a PT who can build you a program around real life, jam-packed schedules, and overly affectionate pets, I’d love to hear from you. 🤗

Being injured, dealing with chronic pain, or navigating pelvic floor issues can feel frustrating, isolating, and confusing. As a physical therapist, I’m here to help your body move well and feel better - but also, I care about your heart and mind. ❤️‍🩹

I want you to leave my office feeling confident in your body, empowered to play an active role in your healthcare, and hopeful for the future. Hearing my patients describe these feelings in their own words is one of the most meaningful, rewarding parts of the work I do.

If you’re ready to feel at home in your body again, reach out via my website (link in bio). I’d love to hear from you. 💌

In honor of Indiana Football’s first game of the season, Coach Cig has some things to say about PT.

Let’s go Hoosiers! And if your PT doesn’t have you smiling like you won a national championship…well, then, let’s talk. 😉

Congratulations to my client Elspeth on completing the Indy Sprint Triathlon this past weekend! It was her first triathlon as a mom, and she placed third in her age group, to boot. 💪

Elspeth came to In Bloom Physio this spring at one year postpartum, struggling to return to the high level of activity she enjoyed prior to pregnancy (including an Ironman finish!). Together we identified weakness in her hips and core and asymmetries in her ankle mobility that were contributing to the symptoms she was experiencing, including foot and hip pain.

We used hands-on manual therapy techniques to improve her mobility and decrease pain, discussed some simple self-care strategies to alleviate post-run symptoms, and developed a targeted strength program that she could squeeze into her busy life as a mom and triathlete with a full-time job in environmental sustainability.

“Kristen’s realistic, achievable plan helped me build strength safely and eliminate pain and other issues,” she says. “I’m thrilled to be back on the race course and to model an active lifestyle for my son!”

Congrats, Elspeth, and thanks for your trust in helping you get back out there!

Here’s a little bit about me, but I created In Bloom Physio for YOU.

For the person who wants to get back to the active lifestyle they love, but pain or pelvic floor symptoms are getting in the way.

For the person who’s longing to feel heard, cared for, and supported in a calm, welcoming space.

For anyone who has ever left a PT appointment feeling overwhelmed by a busy, crowded clinic, or unheard by a provider who was juggling multiple patients at once.

For the person who is confused about what’s happening with their body and wants a clear explanation, a game plan for moving forward, and someone to walk alongside them on the journey to healing.

After years of working in different physical therapy settings, I knew I wanted to create something different, and I’m thankful every day for the opportunity to give time, space, and my absolute best effort to everyone who walks into my office.

I’m accepting new clients and would love to help you feel better, move well, and get back to the activities you love. Reach out through the contact form on my website (link in bio) to get started!

A common misconception about pelvic floor physical therapy is that it’s only for people who are pregnant, newly postpartum, or menopausal. In reality, pelvic floor dysfunction is common in young adults, and college students make up a sizable portion of my caseload.

I’m thankful for the opportunity to speak with providers at the Indiana University Student Health Center this morning during their medical education meeting. We talked about how pelvic floor muscles can be tense and uncoordinated - not just weak - and why Kegel exercises from TikTok aren’t the answer for everyone. We also covered principles of trauma-informed care and simple education that can help patients with pelvic pain or bladder/bowel symptoms, even before they walk into a pelvic floor PT appointment.

Even though I have a solo private practice, I always enjoy collaborating with other healthcare providers. I hope that today’s conversation will help more students get the right care and feel better, faster.

Thanks again for having me, IU Student Health Center / IU Student Life!

Fresh off a SOLD OUT workshop on pelvic floor health for active women!

We talked about what your pelvic floor is, what it does, common problems that affect it, and how to keep it happy. Then we got moving! After learning the basics of diaphragmatic breathing, pelvic floor coordination, and abdominal bracing, we did jumping jacks, ran laps, and lifted heavy stuff. 💪

Thanks to everyone who spent an hour of their Saturday with me, and to Move Bloomington Personal Training for making it happen!

Small on space, big on heart. 💗

I started In Bloom Physio because I knew healthcare could be better than the dysfunctional system we’ve all experienced. I believe the magic happens when you feel heard, cared for, and supported in a calm, healing space.

If you’ve ever left a PT appointment feeling overwhelmed by a noisy, crowded facility, unheard by a provider who’s juggling multiple patients, or confused about what’s going on with your body and what your next best steps are, this place is for you. 🫶

I’m accepting new clients and would love to help you achieve your goals for an active lifestyle! Reach out via the contact form on my website (link in bio).

This Pride Month (and every month), I want to be clear about something that’s important to me as a physical therapist, private practice owner, and simply as a human: Everyone deserves to feel safe, respected, and well cared for, in healthcare and beyond.

I’m committed to continuing to learn about the very real disparities and discrimination the LGBTQ+ community faces, and to providing trauma-informed, inclusive, and compassionate care to every person who walks through my door.

Just in case anyone needs to hear it: No matter who you are or how you identify, you are safe, welcome, and celebrated here. 🌈

I wish I’d made these up…but no. 😑

Too many people are told to give up the activities they love, when in reality, there are so many things we can do to keep you living the active life you want. If you’re struggling with pain or pelvic floor issues, and you’ve been looking for a provider who takes the time to listen, cares for you as a whole person, and empowers you instead of giving you outdated, fear-based advice, I’d love to work with you. Reach out via the contact form on my website (link in bio), and let’s make a plan that helps you live your best life.
