What an incredible weekend! 💙🌈

We had an amazing time at the Hands-On Autism Workshop hosted by TeamCapables. We were honored to introduce GABA Neuro Autism & Behavioral Health Services to the Washington Parish community, connect with families and professionals, and share our vision for expanding access to quality ABA services.

Thank you to Team Capable for creating such a welcoming and impactful event, and to everyone who stopped by our booth, asked questions, and showed your support. We are excited for what’s ahead as we work toward opening in Fall 2027.

The future is bright, and we’re just getting started. 💙🧩

We are honored to be participating in the All Hands on Deck Autism Workshop, hosted by Mignon Barnes and Team Capables, tomorrow at Our Lady of the Angels Hospital in Bogalusa, Louisiana, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM.

We invite everyone in Washington Parish and the surrounding communities to come out and learn more about the resources available for individuals with autism and their families.

Be sure to stop by and meet the team from GABA Autism & Behavioral Health Services! We’d love to introduce ourselves, share our vision for bringing quality ABA and behavioral health services to Washington Parish, and answer any questions you may have.

We’re also looking to connect with individuals who are interested in future employment opportunities. If you’re passionate about serving children and families and would like to be part of our growing team, we’d love to meet you and discuss what’s ahead.

FYI for Parents & Families:

You may hear about tests such as stool analysis, hair mineral/heavy metal analysis, organic acid testing (OAT), food sensitivity testing, and other medical assessments discussed within autism communities. Some families explore these options for concerns related to gastrointestinal issues, nutrition, allergies, or other health-related symptoms.

Please keep in mind that not all tests are considered standard or evidence-based for autism evaluation or treatment, and some may only be appropriate when specific symptoms are present. Recommendations for medical testing should always come from your child’s pediatrician or qualified healthcare provider after reviewing your child’s individual history and needs.

As an ABA provider, we remain committed to ethical practice and staying within our scope of competence. Our role is to support behavior, learning, and skill development while collaborating with medical professionals when appropriate. We encourage families to discuss any medical concerns directly with their healthcare team so informed decisions can be made together.

People with ADHD have what’s called Rejection Sensitive Dysphoria (RSD). It’s an extreme emotional response to perceived criticism or rejection.

Your brain can’t regulate the emotional pain, so a small comment feels like a devastating attack. A minor correction feels like total failure. Someone’s tone feels like hatred.

It’s not oversensitivity. It’s not being dramatic. Your brain literally can’t modulate the intensity of that emotional response.

It’s neurological, not a character flaw.

💙 Thank you all so much for the responses on my last post. Your feedback truly helps us understand what services are most needed in our community, and I appreciate every comment and message.

As I continue preparing to open GABA Neuro, I also want to be honest and say that I cannot do this work alone. My prayer is that I will be able to build a team of responsible, compassionate, and professional Registered Behavior Technicians who truly care about the families we will serve.

If you or someone you know would be interested in going through the RBT certification process once my training and clinic preparations are complete, that is one of the best ways you can support this vision and help me better support our community. Together, we can build something truly impactful for Washington Parish and surrounding areas. 🧠🦋💙
