UPCOMING EVENT:
In a world that teaches us to be quiet—to soften, to filter, to edit ourselves for approval—many of us learn to silence our authentic expression in order to belong. We shape-shift to survive within cultures of politeness and propriety, often at the cost of our own truth.
And yet, there are lineages that have carried something different. Lineages that know what it means to resist erasure. To preserve voice, culture, and selfhood despite generations of suppression.
This workshop is rooted in that knowing.
Your voice is your expression—your boundary, your desire, your truth. And in today’s world, using it authentically can feel risky. Speaking honestly can come with consequences: loss of approval, disruption of relationships, or the fear of no longer belonging where you once did.
Primal Voice Activation is an embodied practice that invites you to cultivate belonging within yourself first.
Because while finding your voice may challenge the structures around you, it also reorganizes your life in powerful ways. The relationships that remain—and the ones that emerge—tend to be more aligned, more honest, and more deeply nourishing.
In this experiential and playful workshop you will explore the powerful connection between the pelvic floor and the throat—two key centers of expression and power in the body.
You’ll learn a pelvic diaphragmatic breathwork technique used in the field of somatic s*xology, allowing you to directly experience how your voice can emerge from different energetic and physical centers within you.
Together, we will:
- Gently warm the body through optional somatic movement
- Explore pelvic-to-throat breath and sound pathways
- Engage in playful vocal toning and sound exploration
- Experiment with silly, raw, and uninhibited vocal expression
- Participate (optionally) in call-and-response group sound
The tone of this workshop is playful and exploratory—but the work itself can be profound.
As you open your voice, you may encounter moments where it once felt restricted, silenced, or unsafe. These imprints can live in the body. When met with curiosity and care, they can begin to shift in unexpected ways.
All experiences are welcome here.
Participants are encouraged to:
- Move at their own pace
- Stay attuned to their personal boundaries
- Arrive with an intention
- Have support systems in place if needed
- Release the expectation of comfort
No singing experience is required—in fact, it’s better if you don’t have any.
Please bring:
A journal, yoga mat, water, and clothing you can move freely in.
