Bettie Jean Geno Michael, 83, passed away suddenly on Monday, July 27, 2026, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Booneville, Mississippi. Born on January 17, 1943, Bettie was the daughter of the late Fred Davis Geno and Ermie Faye Morrow Geno.
For more than 36 years, Bettie faithfully served at Jumpertown High School, where her strong work ethic and dedication left a lasting impact on countless students and colleagues. She loved working and found great joy in gardening.
Bettie shared a special bond with her younger brother, Freddy. After the loss of their mother at an early age, Bettie lovingly stepped into the role of caregiver, helping raise and nurture him with unwavering devotion. She was incredibly proud of the man he became and of all he accomplished. Family members often joked that she "spoiled" Freddy, but her love for him was simply a reflection of the selfless heart she carried throughout her life.
Although Bettie never had children of her own, her nieces and nephews became the center of her world. They were her greatest blessing and the joy of her life. She loved them fiercely and unconditionally, celebrating every milestone, offering constant encouragement, praying faithfully for each of them, and always making them feel deeply loved. To Bettie, they were never just nieces and nephews—they were her children in every way that mattered.
Bettie was a faithful member of Oakhill Baptist Church in Blackland, Mississippi, where...
