I think I might beat Stan Lee by making a cameo in the lives of these superheros. It's a shame Instagram only let's me tag 20 people at once. Stay tuned for more!! 😉

Also, I'm grateful for everyone who has helped me navigate CSM! I don't recommend spraining an ankle on a soccer game right before a conference 😅 But I certainly had fun making up stories of what happened haha!!

It was great meeting new and familiar people alike and I am excited for the next time we meet 😊

2nd part time clinicals is in the books! I'm so grateful for my peers, instructors, clinical instructor, and supporters who helped me get here! I learned so much in the TBI unit and gained a lot of respect for the interdisciplinary team who helped the patients achieve their goals or make progress towards it. The biggest things I learned was 1. Don't drive drunk or sleepy. It is not worth risking yours or someone else's life. 2. There is a lot of gray area of what to and what not to do in regards to treating a patient while keeping them safe AND progressing them towards their goal. In one instance, we had a fall simulation and I needed to be more aggressive for the controlled tarp pull. 3. Communicating updates on patients via electronic medical records, when we pass by each other, or at any instance is vital to making sure we are providing the best care for the patient instead of scheduling our PT session at a time when they have imaging scheduled unbeknownst to the rehabilitation team. Patient's NEED to move to get better. There are no magical pills that will help someone learn how to stand and walk again. And just because someone can walk 300ft, that doesn't mean they are ready to go home safely either.

I grew up in a rural community in Southern Utah and I have been working in the restaurant industry since I was 5 years old to help my family make meets-end. 12 hour shifts every day, including holidays, were grueling but necessary so we didn't end up experiencing homelessness. Of course, this also includes not being able to afford healthcare services unless we were in a life-or-death accident (thanks insurance companies!). I want to help advocate for others who come from similar backgrounds recieve the representation, support, and opportunities they need to help our communities recieve the care they need to walk their children down the wedding aisle, lift their grand kids up after experiencing a fall 8 months ago, and playing their final year of high school sports and receive a scholarship to play in college. The list can go on, but I think y'alls get the picture ;)
