Fair warning: the dare isn’t the hard part. The hard part is the half second before, when you catch yourself checking who’s watching before you’ve even moved.

Nobody’s watching. Well. I am. And I’m rooting for you.

Want the next dare? Comment BEHAVE and I’ll DM it to you.

You don’t believe these rules anymore. You’d laugh at every one of them over dinner.

And you’re still following them. In what you wear, what you order, what you say in the meeting, what you let yourself want in bed. Quietly, all day, without noticing.

That’s the expensive part. Not the rules. The not noticing.

Barbara and I go after them one at a time on Episode 44 of The Sensual Sisterhood Podcast. And Barbara says one thing about the opposite of a good girl that I can’t stop thinking about.

The smartest women I work with don’t deflect compliments the clumsy way. No “oh, this old thing.” They’ve done the work. They know better.

So they deflect beautifully. “It takes one to know one.” “I see the same in you.” “That’s just your light reflecting back.” Gracious. Generous. Spiritually fluent. And the compliment never gets inside her body once.

I think of it like training. Saying thank you is the gross motor skill. Most of you have it. The fine motor skill is letting it in before you do anything clever with it.

Letting it in is part of feeling wildly alive in your own life. It’s also part of F**K YES, my 12-week live group experience for women whose lives work but don’t turn them on anymore: other women say it to your face, again and again, until you stop handing it back.

F**K YES begins January 5. 22 seats. First to Know women get the first shot at them on December 1, two days before applications open to everyone. Link in bio 👆

The most interesting part of Marcia’s story isn’t the compliment. It’s that other people noticed.

Change you actually PRACTICE leaks: into your posture, your voice, the way you order dinner, the way you leave a party the minute you’re done.

That’s the difference between a breakthrough you can describe and a woman people can see.

F**K YES is twelve live weeks, with witnesses, for exactly that kind of change.

Next cohort begins January 5. First to Know women get early access December 1. Link in bio. 💋

Tell me in the comments: what’s your “that’s just not me”?

Barbara has a name for the closed-tab stage: getting ready to be ready.

I love it, because it means wanting something privately isn’t automatically cowardice. Sometimes it’s the first rep. The window where a want gets to be true before anyone else gets a vote.

The catch is that a rehearsal can quietly become a residence. A tab you open once a month for years stops being preparation and starts being the place you keep her, so nobody ever has to update their file on you.

Barbara and I dig into where that line is on Episode 43. Link in bio 👆

So be honest: how long has your tab been open?

You can explain your pattern in exquisite detail. Where it came from, what it protects, why it stopped working years ago.

And then someone asks what you want for dinner, your throat does that tiny squeeze, and out comes “whatever you want.” 🙃

Insight is delicious. But it just doesn’t change those two seconds. Practice does.

That’s what we do in F**K YES: catch the moment, feel the want, and say it out loud while your heart pounds, in a room full of women doing the same.

Next cohort begins January 5.
The First to Know list gets in early on December 1.

Call me Mrs. Moran. 😉💍
Or Marta Moran, if we’re being formal.

I married my favorite human on Monday, and I can’t stop smiling. Just LOOK at us. 🥹❤️

Everything about our wedding was so perfectly, deliciously US. Not one thing was there because it was expected, or because that’s what you’re supposed to do. We asked ourselves, “What do WE want?” And then we did exactly that.

Sounds simple, doesn’t it?

Except I know how many years I spent doing the opposite. Considering everyone else’s feelings. Anticipating reactions. Managing expectations. Hearing that little voice whisper what I wanted while my very intelligent brain came up with seventeen excellent reasons I couldn’t have it.

Here’s what I’ve learned: knowing what you want and being willing to choose it are two very different things.

Because choosing can mean disappointing people. Changing your plans. Walking away from what you’ve invested in. Stepping into a future you can’t predict. And that s**t can be terrifying.

But sometimes, on the other side of that uncertainty, is a life you couldn’t have imagined when you first started choosing differently.

A life with more pleasure. More adventure. More room to be every bit of yourself. Love that makes every cell in your body feel awake.

A few years ago, I had no idea this kind of happiness was waiting for me. I just knew I wanted something different.

And thank F**K I listened.

Your version of joy might look nothing like mine. I hope it looks exactly like YOU.

As for me? I’m 54, wildly in love with a man who adores me, makes me laugh until my face hurts, and with whom I have so much fu***ng FUN. I feel cherished, desired, free, and more alive than ever.

Life is delicious. And this newly minted Mrs. Moran intends to enjoy every bite. 😉❤️

I knew sexism existed. I knew misogyny existed. I knew women were treated differently.

What I didn’t fully understand was how many of those rules I’d spent my entire life following without even realizing it.

And then I got to midlife.
And something shifted.

I started seeing things I’d previously accepted as normal and thinking, wait a fu***ng minute.

Maybe it’s age. Maybe it’s hormones. Maybe it’s the cumulative experience of being a woman in a world that keeps telling us what we’re worth.

Whatever it is, I’m not interested in unseeing it.

And I’m definitely not interested in continuing to play by rules I never agreed to.

Did something shift for you in midlife, too? I’d genuinely love to hear about it.

There is a particular kind of bulls**t available to you when you teach this work.

You can get very, very good at knowing the right answer.

Receiving support?
Big fan.

Letting women show up for you?
Absolutely.

Not having to hold everything alone?
PREACH.

And then somebody actually tries to do it for you.

And suddenly your entire body is like:

oh no no no no no
this is too much
I’m asking for too much
they shouldn’t have to do this
how can I make this easier for everybody
perhaps I should crawl directly into a hole

😂

Barbara Katsnelson | Feminine Embodiment Coach has been organizing something for me this week that requires me to let people show up for me.

And it has made me squirm.

Which is precisely why I’m letting it happen.

I don’t need another insight about receiving.

I need to receive.

These are my fu***ng reps.

And apparently I don’t get to graduate from having them just because I teach the class.
