I am excited to share that I am putting together a new, ongoing consult group specifically for clinicians looking to deepen their work with neurodivergent clients.

Following the theme of my trainings, this space will address the "whole clinician" - integrating clinical skills with contemplative practices and business sustainability.

(You can learn more about my consultation style here: https://www.divergentpathscounseling.com/consultations)

Group Details:
+Time: Tuesday, 11:00 AM – 12:30 PM MT
+Cost: $90 per session
+Focus: Support for neurodiversity-affirming clinicians, with an emphasis on contemplative practice and complex and/or intersectional client presentations.

I am polling potential participants on frequency. If you are interested in joining, please let me know if you would prefer every other week (bi-weekly) or once monthly.

If you are interested in joining this group, email [email protected]! I am in the midst of moving, so my assistant West will respond to you.

I look forward to the possibility of supporting you on your neurodiversity-affirming path.

P.S. If anyone in your network could benefit from this group, please feel free to pass this info or flyer along to them.

I am so proud of our latest training cohort! We just wrapped up our Winter-Spring session this month, and it was such an amazing group of clinicians. Watching everyone grow both personally and professionally was incredibly rewarding. (And I’m a little blown away that our anonymous feedback from this cohort averaged a 9.9/10 overall!)

Even more wonderful, many of them are keeping their connections alive! Some joined my ongoing consultation group, and others started up their own peer group to keep supporting each other. It is so fulfilling to see folks continue their ND-affirming learning journey together after the final module.

And now we get to welcome a new cohort of clinicians to go on this transformative learning journey together. Our next cohort starts Friday, August 28th, 2026.

If you or someone in your circle has been wanting to bring more neurodiversity-affirming values into day-to-day clinical work, I’d love to have you in our next round. It’s designed as a longer-term, relational space so you actually get sustained support along the way.

Together, we’ll dive into:
+Shifting away from deficit and pathology models
+Really understanding autistic, ADHD, and gifted lived experiences
+Bringing in trauma-informed perspectives on ableism and nervous system regulation
+Building truly authentic, affirming relationships with clients

Heads up: Early bird pricing is open now, which saves you $100 if you sign up before June 30th.

Let me know if you have any questions, or head over to the link to grab your spot now.

Reminder that next Friday, I’m hosting a deep dive into Positive Affect Intolerance!

We often talk about processing trauma, but what about processing joy? What I’ve learned is that for many of our neurodivergent clients, joy doesn't feel safe. It feels like a threat.

We’ll cover:

The Neurobiology of Intolerance: Why the ND nervous system views joy as a threat or a precursor to disaster.

The "Success Swerve": How bypassing pride hinders ADHD clients from building emotional memory for future success.

Befriending Internal Guards: Identifying protective parts and using somatic tools to make joy feel safe.

I’d love to see you there to discuss how we can make "feeling good" feel safe for our clients.

Details:
Date: Friday, May 1st, 2026
Time: 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM MT
Cost: $27 General Track | $42 CE Track (1 CE available for licensed mental health therapists in the US)

Hi everyone,

I’m hosting a deep dive into Positive Affect Intolerance next month, sparked by recent conversations with colleagues who are finding this specific concept a bit elusive.

✨ Urgent: Help Update the ACA Code of Ethics for Neurodivergent Clients ✨

(Deadline to sign: April 22nd!)

Hi colleagues! As many of you know, the ACA is currently accepting public comments on the new Code of Ethics. This is a rare, once-in-a-decade opportunity to ensure our professional standards finally include Neurodiversity-Affirming language.
I’ve drafted a collective "Sign-On Letter" urging the ACA to move away from a pathology-based model and toward one that respects neurotype, autonomy, and authentic self-expression.
We are calling for specific changes in:
✅ The Ethics Preamble
✅ Clinical Responsibility (Prioritizing autonomy over compliance)
✅ Nondiscrimination (Adding "Neurotype")
✅ Supervision & Counselor Education

How you can help:
1. Sign the letter: If you are a counselor, counseling student, or counseling educator who believes our code should explicitly protect and affirm neurodivergent lived experiences, please 🔗 add your name and credentials here: https://forms.gle/VMLM8xyV5sZ53AeV8
2. Share this post: Please cross-post this to your state-level counselor groups, alumni networks, or specialty consultation groups.
3. Tag a colleague: Tag a fellow clinician in the comments who is passionate about neurodiversity-affirming care!

⏳ Deadline to join the collective letter: April 22nd.

It takes 30 seconds to sign, and a unified voice of practitioners is much harder for the committee to ignore. Be a part of the change—let’s set a new standard for our profession together!"

If you’re tired of the "tug-of-war" with complex cases and want a more empathic, effective way to support your neurodivergent clients, I’d love to see you there.

My next one-hour, 1 CE online training on April 3rd dives into a challenge many therapists and other mental health providers face: what to do when the usual executive function tools just aren't working.

Often, we treat EF as a logistical hurdle, but when a client meets those practical tools with resistance, the skills-based approach usually falls apart. In this session, we’ll shift the focus from compliance to collaboration, exploring how executive dysfunction is often a protective emotional response rather than a lack of willpower.

Workshop Details:
Date: Friday, April 3rd, 2026
Time: 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM MT
Cost: $27 General Track | $42 CE Track
Where: Online via zoom

This session is a follow-up to my foundational training, Executive Functioning Therapy: From Core Concepts to Advanced Strategies. While I’ll do a brief recap of the core concepts, I highly recommend watching the first session (linked below) to get the full context of the 3-step model (Shame -> Mindfulness -> Skillfulness) we’ll be building upon.

In the live training on April 3rd, we’ll cover:
-The Anatomy of Resistance: Understanding EF struggles as emotional protection.
-Bridging the Gap: Techniques to move clients from "can't" to "can."
-The "Why" as a Roadmap: Using resistance to identify specific relational connection and EF needs.

If you’re tired of the "tug-of-war" with complex cases and want a more empathic, effective way to support your neurodivergent clients, I’d love to see you there.

Hi everyone! I’m hosting a focused, 1-hour training on executive function on February 20th at 12:00 PM MST, and I’d love to see some familiar faces there.

As many of you know, I’m passionate about neurodiversity-affirming care. This session is designed to be a relaxed, interactive space where we can move beyond basic checklists and look at a trauma-informed, strengths-based framework for supporting our clients with executive functioning challenges.

We’ll be chatting about:

Reconceptualizing EF: Looking at core cognitive skills and clinical risk factors through a neurodiversity-affirming lens.

Creative Strategies: Moving past "just use a planner" to find innovative ways to help clients adapt their environments to their needs.

Nuanced Support: Navigating the "resistance" we often see and helping clients build genuine, intrinsic motivation.

Details:

When: Feb 20, 2026, at 12:00 PM (Denver time)

CEs: 1 CE will be available for licensed mental health therapists (pending).

Happy New Year, everyone!

As folks are settling into 2026 and mapping out their plans for the months ahead, I wanted to share a reminder about the start of my course later this month.

This is a longer-term, relational learning experience for therapists who want sustained support in bringing neurodiversity-affirming values into day-to-day clinical work, rather than a one-off training.

New Pathways to Neurodiversity-Affirming Therapy (24 CEs)
🗓 Jan 30 – May 8, 2026 | 8 bi-weekly sessions
⏰ 9:30am–12:30pm MT | Every other Friday

The course explores:
-Moving away from deficit- and pathology-based frameworks
-Deepening understanding of autistic, ADHD, and gifted lived experience
-Integrating trauma-informed perspectives related to ableism and regulation
-Supporting more authentic, affirming therapeutic relationships

The consultation group is almost full, so now is a good time to join if this has been on your radar!

I’m happy to share additional details or answer questions in the comments or via DM!
