Did you know atrial fibrillation (AFib) can increase a person’s risk of stroke by 500%?

May is recognized as National Stroke Awareness Month – it’s important to understand your options for reducing stroke risk. For some patients with AFib, the WATCHMAN™ Implant may offer an alternative to long-term blood thinner use while providing effective stroke protection.

In our latest blog, Boulder Heart cardiologist Dr. Chirag Chauhan discusses AFib, stroke prevention and how WATCHMAN technology is helping certain patients reduce their risk and improve quality of life.

Read the full blog and learn more about whether WATCHMAN may be right for you at the link: https://bit.ly/4wTSjyZ . To find out if you’re a candidate for WATCHMAN, schedule a consultation with Dr. Iyengar or Dr. Chauhan, call Boulder Heart at 303-442-2395.

Opting to undergo elective spine surgery is a significant decision. It requires trust and communication between patients and surgeons to know when the time is right – when conservative treatments, such as injections, physical therapy and anti-inflammatory medications, aren’t bringing relief.

Our team of neurosurgeons from Boulder Neurosurgical & Spine Associates of B*H and our orthopedic spine surgeons can identify the best solution for each patient so that a life without pain, plus improved mobility, is possible.

Nutrition plays a vital role in healing and recovery. With support from the B*H Foundation’s Community Collaboration Fund, Project Angel Heart is expanding access to medically tailored meals for patients facing serious health conditions.

This funding will support the preparation and delivery of customized meals designed by chefs and registered dietitians, helping ensure patients receive the nutrition they need during treatment and recovery. Meals are delivered directly to patients' homes, providing consistent, reliable support when it matters most. Integrating nutrition into the care journey helps strengthen recovery and supports patients beyond the clinical setting.

Today on National Trauma Survivors Day, we recognize the strength, resilience and journeys of trauma survivors and the communities that help support them along the way.

As part of B*H’s 4th Annual Trauma Symposium, trauma survivor Craig Towler shared his remarkable story – from surviving a life-changing injury to becoming an advocate helping others navigate recovery and access the resources they need after trauma.

Craig’s journey is a powerful reminder that healing extends beyond the hospital walls and that recovery is shaped by perseverance, connection and support.
