We demand constant, peak productivity from ourselves, but nature doesn’t work that way.

The moon is a constant reminder that we aren’t meant to be fully illuminated all the time. Your quiet, low-energy, and reflective phases aren’t “lost time”—they are the necessary preparation for your next full phase.

Stop apologizing for being in a crescent season. You are still whole, even in the dark.

Proof that nature doesn’t need a massive canvas to create a masterpiece.

Did you know a hummingbird nest is about the size of a walnut shell? They weave them together using twigs, plant down, and spider silk so the nest can literally stretch as the babies grow.

It’s a gentle reminder that the most profound marvels of the world often come in the smallest packages. Don’t look past the little things today!

If you are trying to overcome a fear of nature but feel held back by a sneaky voice whispering “What if I get lost?” or “What if a bug bites me?”—take a deep breath. It is completely normal to experience outdoor anxiety when you’re used to the city, but the wilderness is a lot more welcoming than it seems. For starters, learning a few basic outdoor safety tips takes a lot of the mystery out of being outside. You don’t need elite survival skills to enjoy a beginner-friendly trail; you won’t lose your way if you simply stick to well-marked paths. Plus, there is a world of difference between clean “nature dirt” and city grime—and wild animals are far too busy living their lives to ever seek you out.

Overcoming that initial hesitation about spending time in nature is really just about simple preparation and having the right company. By packing a basic daypack with essential outdoor gear for beginners—like plenty of water, a first-aid kit, a light jacket, and some great snacks—you’ll suddenly find yourself ready for a safe, comfortable day out. Best of all, you don’t have to face the wilderness by yourself. You can easily book a session to practice hiking for beginners with an experienced guide like me. I can’t wait to show you how peaceful the woods can be at your own pace, so click the link in my bio to check out my upcoming guided nature walks!

My glimmers this week. There are so many benefits to nature therapy. One that I marvel at on a daily basis is how the simplest moments or observations bring me so much joy and satisfaction.

The simplicity of flying kites with my boys was a major highlight. Repotting a few houseplants and feeling the dirt under my fingernails. My beloved office space that I recently completely rearranged to accommodate one new chair. My leather folio full of Ecotherapy research and my personal notes. My dog peeking down from my office loft. Soaking in phytoncides in our forest. And a very “feminine” tree 🤭.

Hope your week was full of glimmers, too!

Touching parts and pieces of nature is a wonderful sensory adventure. It can bring fun new sensations & who doesn’t want to feel like a kid again wading through a sweet little stream?

For too long, I treated calm like a reward I had to work for, instead of a right I already had. Now, I’m making choices that guard my energy, my rest, and my quiet. Because protecting your peace is the real form of progress.
