Happy August!!! Bluegrass Outpatient Center would like to highlight a very important, and often overlooked, member of our rehab group, the administrative team. These wonderful ladies are the face of Bluegrass! They greet each patient with a smile and hello. They work diligently behind the scenes to make sure the clinicians can do their jobs well and we are grateful. Thank you ladies for your professionalism and commitment to our patients.

📣 Med Center Health Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine is proud to announce its partnership with Greenwood High School and Warren East High School as the provider of athletic training and sports medicine services, effective July 1, 2026. The addition of these two high schools expands Med Center Health’s athletic training and sports medicine coverage to 10 high schools across Southcentral Kentucky.

Topic of discussion: the state implementing cursive hand writing in schools again📚✏️📝

As an OT, Loren is looking forward to cursive writing being taught in the school system again. Handwriting is considered an occupation for children because it’s one of the primary ways they participate in school. Cursive writing is a powerful tool for our friends with learning differences such as dyslexia, ADHD, or dysgraphia. Rather than starting and stopping constantly to print letters, cursive is one continuous movement. If a child struggles with handwriting, they may have difficulty completing assignments, taking notes, or showing what they know. Occupational therapists look at the underlying skills that make handwriting possible and help children develop those skills.

Thank you Loren, and all our pediatric rehab staff, who dedicate themselves to our patients and their success in and out of the classroom.

Our Med Center Health physical, occupational and speech therapists had a great time at WKU Camp CARES! ❤️

Campers had the opportunity to learn more about careers in healthcare while participating in interactive activities designed to give them a better understanding of what our therapists do each day to help patients reach their goals and regain their independence.

Thank you to our Med Center Health therapists who volunteered their time to share their professions and inspire the next generation of healthcare professionals! 👏

Congratulations Dr. Kaitlyn Seymour, PT on your achievements! Your dedication and commitment to these patients are truly exceptional.

In January 2025, Dr. Kaitlyn Seymour, PT, DPT walked onto the maternity unit with one goal: offer physical therapy to postpartum patients who need it.

By Q3 of 2025, PT was receiving orders on 56% of eligible postpartum patients, up from 26% when she started. By November, after she presented research and clinical rationale at the OB department meeting, standing orders for rehab were written into the post-op C-section order set. Every C-section. Automatically.

She’s now the primary PT on the maternity unit and has trained full-time and PRN staff to cover weekends.

Kaitlyn is a PHS-C graduate from Enhanced Recovery After Delivery®. She personally underwent a C-section and has been practicing in acute care for 6 years.
