Today, on International Overdose Awareness Day, we remember the lives that have been tragically lost to overdose. 💜
For far too many families, addiction has left an empty chair, an unanswered phone call, and a person they would give anything to have back. Our hearts go out to you as we remember your loved ones.

But today, we also want to show you another side of the story.
These pictures represent people who are still here. People who made the decision to fight. People celebrating another milestone in recovery — 30 days, 60 days, 90 days, one year and beyond.

Every coin represents a story that could have ended differently.
At Hand Up To Victory, we see firsthand that recovery is possible. Lives can be rebuilt. Families can be restored. Hope can return.

Today we remember those we’ve lost.
And we keep fighting for those we can still save. 💜

Our very own Austyn celebrated 3 years clean and sober on Sunday 8/23! She brings her dynamic energy & tenacity everyday, & gives her all to make a real impact in the lives of those we serve. She always thinks of others, goes the extra mile, and has become a very valuable member of our team. She has her own place with her soon to be spouse Brian, and is present daily in all 4 of her children's lives. We appreciate you Austyn, and we know this is just the beginning of what God is going to do in your life! Congrats 💯📈

Not every client wants their picture shared on social media — but some stories are still worth telling. ❤️
This past weekend, Josh reached out to Justin through a mutual friend. He had been sleeping in his car, hadn’t showered in days, was exhausted from the life he was living, and desperately wanted something different.
We made arrangements to get him into Journey To Greatness.
When he arrived, he quietly said, “I hate to ask, but I don’t have any food or even anything to shower with.”
That’s when Austyn stepped in.
She met Justin and Josh with an incredible setup - hygeine products, a huge bag of food and drinks, and even meat from the freezer to help get him started. Josh was moved to tears.
Overwhelmed with gratitude, he told us that no one had ever done anything like this for him before.
This is exactly what Hand Up To Victory was created for.
It’s more than helping someone find a bed. It’s meeting people in some of the hardest moments of their lives and reminding them that they are seen, they matter, and they don’t have to figure out the next step alone.
For us, this isn’t a 9-to-5.
This is a lifestyle. This is our mission. This is what we were called to do.
To every donor and grant supporter who makes moments like this possible in our community — thank you. 🙌🏻💯
Your support gives us the ability to say YES when someone like Josh reaches out and says, “I’m ready for a change.”
And sometimes, that one “yes” can be the beginning of an entirely new life.

🙌 Another hand up. Another victory!

Our team assisted Kain with placement into an Oxford House- he immediately got locked in on his recovery, and landed a job at Publix in his first week! 🎉

He needed work shoes, so Hand Up To Victory stepped in. 👟

Sometimes a hand up is simply helping someone remove a barrier and take the next right step.

We’re proud of you, Kain! Keep pushing forward! 💪❤️

Today we were invited to the Community Systems Planning Day for Manatee County, addressing homelessness & housing for individuals with opioid use disorder. Austyn was asked to be on a panel sharing her lived experience! We collaborated with other agencies to identify what we do well & what needs to be improved to better serve this demographic and continue the downtrend of opioid overdoses!!!
Thanks to all who who took part in this 💯🙌🏻

There’s some posts that can’t be put into pictures or a reel.

When one of our many phone calls yesterday was an individual that was barely hanging on by a thread in the situation he was in, and when the last domino fell, he knew he wanted to make a change, but he had no idea where he was going to go or what he was going to do next.
He said, somehow through word-of-mouth, someone told him about us, and after assessing his situation we were able to setup placement into Journey To Greatness Recovery Homes in Manatee County for him today. He said at the end he had tried for the last 2 1/2 weeks to put something together to no avail, and for the first time in a long time, he felt like he was finally taking steps to do the right thing.
That right there is exactly who Hand Up To Victory was created to help 🙌🏻
