Age 46, of Reddick, IL, passed away Saturday, August 22, 2026, at Loyola Medical Center in Maywood, IL She was born May 25, 1980, in Kankakee, IL, to Dale and Carol (Anderson) Halpin.
Alison spent her life working alongside her family in agriculture, a life she was proud to share with those she loved. She found joy in the simple things, being outdoors, working with her hands, caring for her animals, and spending time with family and friends.
She was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church in South Wilmington and the South Wilmington Beach and Fireman’s Club. Alison was an avid runner and loved boating, skiing, fishing, gardening, and horseback riding. She especially cherished her horses and dogs and could often be found outdoors, enjoying the beauty of nature she loved so much.
Above all, Alison treasured her family and friends. Her love of the outdoors, her animals, her family, and the life she shared with those around her will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
Alison is survived by her parents, Dale and Carol Halpin of Gardner, IL; her brother, Eric (Elma) Halpin of Gardner; her nephew, Luke Halpin; and a nephew, Logan, who is on the way. She is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins, as well as her godparents, Galen and Evie Fritz.

Age 71, of Braidwood, IL, passed away Thursday, August 13, 2026, at his residence. Born April 15, 1955, in Bonn, Germany, he was the son of Theophil “Theo” and Agnes (née Stegemann) Czok. At the age of four, Eb moved with his family to Chicago, where he was raised. He graduated from Gordon Technical High School in Chicago with the Class of 1973.
On October 13, 2007, Eb married Michelle Schure in Joliet, IL. Together, they shared nearly 19 years of marriage, and a life filled with love, companionship, and many cherished memories.
Throughout his working years, Eb was employed as a Sheet Metal Worker, through Sheet Metal Workers Local 73, a Pressmen through Chicago Graphic Communications International Union, Local 458-3M, and later worked as a machine operator.
Eb was a proud member of Alcoholics Anonymous since 1990. He had a natural curiosity and loved tinkering with electricity. Known as a fountain of useless knowledge, Eb enjoyed sharing the many interesting facts and bits of information he collected over the years and enjoyed every minute of it. He also enjoyed Disney Cruises and visiting Disney World where he enjoyed many different, unique cuisines. He had many memorable food preferences that were distinctly his own.

Age 90, of Pontiac, IL, passed away Sunday, August 16, 2026, at Aperion Care in Wilmington, IL. Born February 3, 1936, in White Haven, PA, Bruce was the son of Gilbert and Amanda E. (née Wagner) Kester.
On February 15, 1958, Bruce married Flora Smith in California. Together, they shared 68 years of marriage and a lifetime of memories.
Bruce proudly served his country in the United States Air Force from July 1954 until his honorable discharge in April 1958. During his nearly four years of active-duty service, he served as a Still Photographer, using his skills in photography in support of Air Force operations. He was stationed with the 3535th Air Base Group at Mather Air Force Base in California and attained the rank of Airman First Class. In recognition of his honorable and dedicated service, Bruce was awarded the National Defense Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal.
Throughout his career, Bruce worked as a project manager for several chemical companies. He was an avid reader and particularly enjoyed the works of John Grisham and Tom Clancy. Bruce was of the Presbyterian faith.

Age 71, of Braidwood, IL, passed away Thursday, August 13, 2026 at Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville, IL.
Born August 8, 1955, in Chicago, IL, Laura was the daughter of Lawrence and Lorraine (née Bodinet) Paha. She was raised in Chicago, where she attended St. Dennis Grade School and Bogan High School.
In 1983, Laura married James F. Kozek, whom she met while they were both employed by Terry’s Ford Dealership in Orland Park, IL. James preceded her in death.
Laura spent much of her career in office and bookkeeping positions, including working as a bookkeeper for Ford Motor Company and as a bank teller. In her free time, she enjoyed crafting, gardening, spending time outdoors, traveling, and gathering with family. Trips to Michigan to fish were a special tradition she enjoyed since childhood.
Surviving are her stepdaughter, Jerilyn M. (née Kozek) Moore; stepson, James T. (Amy) Kozek; step-grandchildren, Nick (Julianna) Kier, Stefani (Joseph) Munos, and Brooklyn L. Kozek; siblings, Maryanne (Don) Montagano, Patricia Faber, Edmund (Janet) Paha, and Larry (Debbie) Paha; as well as several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. She is also survived by her beloved cat, George.
Laura was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Lorraine Paha; her husband, James F. Kozek; and her brother-in-law, Richard Faber.

Age 90, of South Wilmington, passed away peacefully in her sleep in the morning of Sunday, August 16, 2026. Born March 12, 1936 at her home in South Wilmington, Betty was the daughter of Joseph “Peck” and Beatrice (née Swartz) Smolik.

Betty graduated from Gardner-South Wilmington High School, Class of 1954 as the Salutatorian of her class.

On July 7, 1956, she married the love of her life, Charles L. Benbrooks. They shared 70 years of marriage together.

As a homemaker and loving mother, Betty loved to quilt with her mom along with crocheting and knitting. She also loved camping with her family in many states from the Black Hills of South Dakota, Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming and frequently to Shawnee National Forest in Southern Illinois. In the winter, she also loved snowmobiling here in Illinois and in Tigerton, WI.

Later in life, she enjoyed reading and making her puzzle, after puzzle, after puzzle!! And her face lit up when all her grandchildren came through the front door to visit.

Betty was a faithful member of United Lutheran Church in Gardner and was a member of Dorcas Circle for many years.

Age 69, of Godley, IL, passed away Friday, August 14, 2026, at Hines VA Hospital in Hines, IL. He was born February 24, 1957, at Morris Hospital in Morris, IL, to Vernon and Nancy (née Seibert) Warriner.
Donald served in the United States Army, where he was stationed at Fort Knox, Kentucky, and trained as a Cannon Fire Direction/Fire Support Specialist.
Donald worked as a mechanic for General Motors for most of his life. He enjoyed restoring antique trucks, racing stock cars in his younger years, and attending and participating in car shows. Donald attended Coal City Baptist Church.
Surviving are his girlfriend, Sharon Dines of Danforth, IL; three daughters, Mashale (Gabe) Castelli of Gardner, IL, Barbie Warriner of Godley, IL, and Marcie Clark of Gardner, IL; four grandchildren, Sabrina Warriner, Nick Warriner, U.S. Army Pvt. 2nd Class Bradley Castelli, and Devin Brown; two sisters, Diane (Terri) Warriner of Benton, IL and Verna (Tony) Altiery of Braidwood, IL; one brother, Vernon Warriner, Jr. of Wilmington, IL; brother-in-law, Adam Clark of Wilmington, IL; and many nieces and nephews.
Donald was preceded in death by his parents, Vernon and Nancy Warriner; son, Scotty Warriner; son-in-law, Teddy Clark; sister, Elaine LaFlamme; and nephew, Adam Clark, Jr.

Age 83, of Minooka, IL, passed away August 7, 2026.
She was a former employee of the Joliet Army Ammunition Plant, a welder, and a CNA/caregiver for many years.
She was known for hosting the family Easter egg hunt, baking banana bread and zucchini bread from scratch, and making her famous fruit salad and deviled eggs for the holidays. In her earlier years, she enjoyed playing cards, dice, and bingo with her family and friends. She loved her Hall family reunions.
She is survived by her children, John (Roseann) Hedrick, James (Jeana) Hedrick, Edward (Ning) VanHeidrich, Carol Norton, Alan Hedrick, and Peggy (Adam) Hallstrom; grandchildren, Mike, Nick, Chris, Mercy, Stephanie, Matthew, Alexander, Katie, Josh, Haley, Kelly, Jennifer, Patrick, Alyssa, Kameron, Damion, Lucas, and Jacob; 32 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are her sister, Jessie Cervantes; brothers, Johnny and Dave Hall; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Eugene; parents, Barney and Emma (née Munson) Hall; daughter, Rhonda Guzman; grandson, Matthew Guzman; sisters, Maxine, Betty, Zenovia, Anna, Emogene, Bertha Mae, Geneva, and Edith; and brothers, Martin, Dominic, James, George, and Calvin.

Age 73, of Braidwood, IL, passed away Friday, July 31, 2026, at Silver Cross Hospital in New Lenox, IL. Born December 11, 1952, in Chicago, IL, Jeffrey was the son of James and Juanita (née Dacken) Jodis.
On June 10, 1983, he married the love of his life, Amelia "Amy" Collins, in Wheaton, IL. Together they built a life centered on family, hard work, and the simple joys of everyday living, sharing more than 43 years of marriage.
Jeffrey dedicated 26 years of his career to P.T. Ferro Construction, where he worked as a Teamster truck driver and was a proud member of Teamsters Local Union #179. He took great pride in his work and the friendships he built throughout the years. Known for his strong work ethic and dependability, Jeffrey earned the respect of his coworkers and left a lasting impression on those who had the privilege of working alongside him.
Before beginning his career, Jeffrey proudly answered the call to serve his country by enlisting in the United States Air Force. He served honorably from 1972 until 1976 as an Aircraft Maintenance Specialist. His years of military service reflected the dedication, discipline, and quiet sense of duty that remained with him throughout his life. Following four years of faithful service to his country, he received an honorable discharge.
