Had a BLAST reading tarot for the Voodoo on the Bayou Ball. The costumes were all amazing and the line for readings didn’t stop all night. Definitely was in my element! Can’t wait to do it again next year.

I was 12 the first time it happened and he was my step brother. Everyone thinks I’m strong because of my congenital heart defect. Which, I am. But the worst trauma I’ve suffered in life can’t be seen from the outside. Abuse makes permanent, invisible, scars.

In light of ALL the violence of women across the world and for the sake of my own healing journey, it’s time I used my platform for something important to so many of us.

I have never publicly spoken about the SA’s I’ve suffered. But speaking in a public forum is the next step for me. I’ve told a handful in my life and never in my childhood. I spent a great deal of time in my youth and throughout my life wondering what about me made me a target. Did I dress wrong? Did I say something inviting? Did I put out some mysterious frequency that said PLEASE abuse me?

I was 12 the first time. It persisted until I was 14. I told no one until my late 20s when soon after, a harmless lunch date with an ex turned into r*pe. Some of my family reading this might be shocked because I’ve never talked about this to any of them.

I suffered at the hands of multiple people’s crusty ass sons. And not just SA. I’ve also had hands that were meant to love me bruise my body with ill intent. Again, multiple times. Once under the sanctity of holy matrimony.

Sometimes I wonder if the bathing suit I wore at 2 was just as dangerous as the bikinis I wear now and I always come up with the same answer. Yes. And the sad part? I have protected myself in every way women are taught to do so but no one taught me the real predators would be loved ones.

Men. See something, say something, DO something. If you’re complicit you’re just as guilty. Just ask anyone who survived the holo caust.

The good news is I’m a tough bitch. And if half a functioning heart hasn’t k*lled me yet, ain’t no way I’m letting some cowards BS take me out. This was the next step for me in healing and I hope this helps someone else.

Today I celebrated my 43rd bday on my parents farm with my family since I’ll be in Nashville for my actual bday. I’ve been contemplating a lot lately. Journaling a lot. Deciding hard boundaries. Figuring out who life has shaped me into. I’m healing. I’m recalibrating. I’m becoming. Slowly. Surely. Idk where my IG page is going but maybe I’ll find it in my healing too.

Decided to do a daily pull for today and thought I’d share. 10 of cups + 2 of swords + 7 of cups. Lots of options today but choose the one that brings you the most peace and fills your emotional well. Don’t choose potential, choose what is rooted in reality. We can’t all afford coachella but we can all afford to be kind.
