🌊 It’s finally happening.

Tonight at midnight, registration officially opens for the very first Little Tides: Music & Movement for Tots class through Portsmouth Parks & Recreation. 🤍

This has been a dream of mine for a long time. Bringing Little Tides home to Rhode Island has always been the vision.

As an Occupational Therapist and mom, I’ve dreamed of creating a place where little ones can sing, move, explore, and play while the people raising them find connection, friendship, and community right alongside them.

Every class is thoughtfully designed to support development through music, movement, sensory exploration, and purposeful play while making joyful memories together.

✨ Free Introductory Class: Wednesday, September 30
🌊 Classes Begin: Wednesday, October 7
📍 Portsmouth Parks & Recreation

If you’ve been waiting, registration opens at midnight tonight on the Portsmouth Parks & Recreation website.

Thank you to everyone who has encouraged me and believed in this dream. I truly can’t wait to welcome your family to Little Tides and begin building this community together. 💙

She wasn’t looking for anything extraordinary.

Just tiny rocks.

That’s the beautiful thing about childhood. Wonder doesn’t have to be planned or expensive. Sometimes all it takes is a little time, a safe place to explore, and someone who lets them lead.

As an occupational therapist, I know these quiet moments are anything but “just playing.” They’re building attention, problem-solving, sensory processing, confidence, and independence.

As a mom, I just know these are the moments I never want to forget.

That’s the heart behind Little Tides.

A place where children are free to explore, caregivers are encouraged to slow down, and connection always comes before perfection. 🤍🌊

Sensory play isn’t just messy… it’s meaningful. 🌊

When children squish play dough, chase bubbles, scoop rice, splash water, climb, spin, and explore different textures, they’re doing so much more than “playing.”

They’re building:
🤍 Stronger bodies
🩵 Better coordination
🤍 Language through shared experiences
🩵 Problem-solving skills
🤍 Emotional regulation
🩵 Confidence
🤍 Creativity

Childhood should be filled with opportunities to move, explore, create, and connect.

The best learning doesn’t happen sitting still. It happens through play. 💙

Dads, we’d love to hear from you! 👋

We’re thinking about launching Saturdays Are for the Dads, a Little Tides pop up series designed just for dads, grandpas, uncles, or any father figure and the kids they love.

Think Saturday morning coffee dates, playground adventures, beach scavenger hunts, nature walks, building projects, sports, story time, seasonal activities, and opportunities to connect with other local dads while making memories with your little ones.

Would this be something your family would enjoy?

❤️ We’d absolutely come!
👍 Tell me more!
💬 What activities would you want to see?

We believe kids thrive through play, but parents thrive through connection too. We’d love to create a space where dads can slow down, have fun with their kids, and build friendships with other families in the community.

Any allergy moms or dads out there? 🤍

Atlas has been teaching us more about food allergies than I ever imagined. Between reading every label, introducing new foods carefully, and navigating breastfeeding while avoiding his allergens, it’s been a learning curve.

Some days feel overwhelming, but it’s also reminded me how powerful it is to have other parents who understand.

Little Tides has always been about more than play. It’s about building a community where parents can share experiences, ask questions, and know they’re not alone.

If you’re navigating food allergies too, I’d love to hear your story. What has been the biggest challenge for your family?

Sensory-rich play helps children make sense of the world around them.

The feel of the foam, the shimmer of the bubbles, reaching, splashing, watching, wondering… every experience builds skills through play.

And the best part? They just think they’re having fun. 🤍

Fresh air just hits different. 🌿☀️

If you’ve ever had a baby fall asleep outside, you know there’s something special about it. The breeze, the birds, the warmth of the sun—it has a way of calming little bodies and busy minds.

Here’s your reminder to spend a little time outdoors today. You might be surprised where the day takes you.
