We want to take a moment to address recent conversations about the potential reintroduction of “conversion therapy” into clinical practice.
Conversion therapy refers to attempts to change a person’s sexual orientation or gender identity. These practices have been widely studied and consistently shown to be ineffective and harmful. Individuals subjected to conversion therapy are at increased risk for anxiety, depression, trauma, and suicidal ideation.
Major professional organizations including the American Psychological Association, American Counseling Association, and American Medical Association have formally denounced conversion therapy and do not support its use under any circumstances.
At Therapy at Third, we stand firmly in alignment with these evidence-based standards of care. We do not provide or support conversion therapy. Our work is grounded in respect, affirmation, and the belief that every person deserves to feel safe, seen, and supported in their identity.
We are committed to providing ethical, inclusive, and compassionate care to all individuals and families we serve.
If you have questions or would like to learn more, we’re here to have open and supportive conversations. We love you just the way the good Lord above does too🤍..
