An I-Spy jar provides significant occupational therapy benefits by combining visual-perceptual training, fine motor coordination, and self-regulation into a single activity! And the best part is, you can make it with few materials and it’s an easily adaptable task!

We’re working on:

* Visual scanning: Eyes moving to search through the filler material to locate hidden trinkets. 👀
* Figure-ground perception: Teaches the brain to pick out a specific object from a busy, distracting background. 🌈
* Visual discrimination: noticing subtle differences in shapes, sizes, and colors among various small objects. 🔸▪️🔻
* Motor planning (praxis): figuring out how much to twist, turn, or tip the container to manipulate the jar and reveal the hidden objects. 🙌
* Proprioceptive input: tactile feedback to shake.
* Self regulation: A self-soothing tool to reduce anxiety and lower stress. 🧘‍♀️

I paired it with a writing task to work on letter formation, too! ✏️

As a pediatric occupational therapist and toddler mom, I’m always looking for ways to help my daughter build confidence and independence in everyday routines — and mealtime is a huge opportunity for that. 🍽️

That’s why I love the NUBY Grow With Me High Chair. It’s truly designed to grow with your child; from first bites to big kid milestones. 🪑

When starting solids as well as our little ones grow, I want to see a nice, stable 90-90-90 position: hips, knees, and ankles supported, with feet resting on a solid surface.
That stable base can help little ones feel more secure as they work on the skills involved in feeding themselves.

And I love giving my toddler opportunities to practice independence including holding her straw cup, using utensils, and choosing from her own plate. 🍼

The adjustable footrest makes it easy to customize as she grows, and later, you can remove the tray and cushion to transition it into an independent big-kid chair.
Plus, it folds for easy storage and is designed for easy cleanup.

Because the goal isn’t just getting them through a meal. It’s helping them build the confidence to say, “I can do it myself.”
NUBY Grow With Me … built for every stage at the table! 😊

As a school based OT, I work a lot with my students in the classroom. One of my “holy grail” tools is the Legi-Liner! It comes in a variety of sizes and types to support a variety of age groups. I love that I am able to turn any piece of paper or worksheet into one adapted for my students!

It’s kinda chic: OT edition! 🤍 A fun little trend to get into the new school year.

Space Club is an incredible indoor sensory playground built for kids of all ages and abilities! My daughter had the most fun time climbing, jumping, building, and sliding in the 3 distinct floors! We will definitely be back Space Club !

As an occupational therapist and a mom, I’m always looking for activities that are easy to pull together but still support my toddler’s development.

Nuby has so many amazing products to keep my little one moving, laughing, and engaged while naturally working on:
✨ Balance
✨ Coordination
✨ Motor planning
✨ Hand-eye coordination
✨ Body awareness

The best part? She just thought we were playing. A reminder that you don’t need elaborate activities to support your child’s development. Sometimes a few favorite toys, a little imagination, and following their lead are more than enough. 🤍

* Keep activities short (5–10 minutes) to match your toddler’s attention span.
* Offer simple choices (“Should we walk like a bear or a bunny?”) to increase engagement. 💕
* Follow your child’s lead—if they invent a new way to use the stones, that’s excellent practice for creativity and motor planning. 🧠
* Increase the challenge gradually by changing the spacing, adding simple tasks, or introducing new movement patterns as your toddler gains confidence. 🌈
