👂 Could It Be an Ear Infection? 👂

Ear infections are common in children, especially after a cold or respiratory infection. But how do you know when it’s time to have those little ears checked?

🚩 Signs of an ear infection may include:
• Pulling or tugging at the ear
• Ear pain or saying their ear hurts
• Increased fussiness or irritability
• Trouble sleeping
• Fever
• Difficulty hearing or responding normally
• Fluid or drainage coming from the ear
• Trouble with balance
• Decreased appetite, especially in younger children

👶 For babies and toddlers, sometimes the signs are less obvious. Extra crying, poor feeding, disrupted sleep, or constantly touching their ears may be clues.

If you suspect your child has an ear infection, getting them evaluated can help determine whether treatment is needed.

A new school year means new friends, new adventures… and unfortunately, more germs! Help keep your family healthy with these simple tips:

🧼 Wash hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.
🤧 Cover coughs and sneezes with your elbow or a tissue.
💧 Pack a reusable water bottle to stay hydrated.
🧴 Keep hand sanitizer in backpacks for when soap isn’t available.
😴 Make sure kids get plenty of sleep to help support a healthy immune system.
🥗 Fuel up with healthy meals and snacks.

🤒 If your child isn’t feeling well, keep them home to help prevent spreading illness to classmates.

💧 Drink plenty of water.
🧴 Apply aloe vera or a fragrance-free moisturizer.
👕 Wear loose, lightweight clothing.

❌ DON’T:

🚫 Pop blisters.
🚫 Use ice directly on the burn.
🚫 Spend more time in the sun until your skin has healed.

🚨 Seek medical care if you have:
• Severe blistering
• Fever or chills
• Dizziness or dehydration
• Increasing pain or swelling
