Here’s something almost no one tells women: perimenopause can begin in your mid-30s. Yes, really.
It usually doesn’t start with hot flashes.
Early perimenopause often looks like brain fog, disrupted sleep, anxiety, mood changes, weight gain, or a lower s*x drive. And because your periods may still be fairly regular, many women are told, “Your labs are normal.” Or worse, “It’s just stress or anxiety.”
If you’re in your late 30s or early 40s and don’t feel like yourself, you’re not imagining it. And you’re not too young to start this conversation.
The good news? Once we understand your unique hormone pattern, there’s so much we can do.
For some women, that includes body-identical hormone replacement therapy. For others, the answer is addressing root causes like gut health, thyroid function, inflammation, nutrient deficiencies, or chronic stress. More often than not, it’s a thoughtful combination of both.
There is no one-size-fits-all protocol. Your treatment should be personalized to your symptoms, your stage of perimenopause, your goals, and your health history.
