Shambhala Meditation Center of Los Angeles

Shambhala Meditation Center of Los Angeles Spark your heart and mind through the practice of meditation.

Shambhala Los Angeles offers a unique approach to meditation using the three yanas of Buddhism and the Shambhala teachings, fostering a profound practical practice intended for everyday life. Established in 1971, the Los Angeles Shambhala Center is part of Shambhala, an international community of more than 200 meditation centers and groups, founded by Tibetan meditation master Chögyam Trungpa Rin

poche. The Shambhala Buddhist path, unique in the world of Western Buddhism, combines the teachings of Tibetan Buddhism with the Shambhala principles of living an uplifted life, fully engaged with the world. Shambhala vision is rooted in the principle that every human being has a fundamental nature of basic goodness: the inherent wisdom, compassion, and courage of all beings, and even of human society. It acknowledges our inherent human dignity, worthiness, completeness and non-faultiness, and leads us to have confidence in that. This nature can be brought into daily life so that it radiates out to family, friends, community, and society.

🧘 Introduction to Buddhist Psychology
📅 5 Tuesdays · Aug 4 – Sept 1 · 7:00–9:00 PM
📍 Burbank, CA (hybrid — in person or online)

Do your emotions ever feel like they're running the show? This 5-week course explores Buddhist psychology through the lens of the Wheel of Life — the roots of suffering, how our habits shape us, the emotional worlds we live in, and the path toward waking up. No experience needed, just curiosity.

Each class blends traditional teachings with experiential practice, so you'll leave with tools you can actually use — not just ideas to think about.
