There aren’t enough words to describe how much this moment means to our family. Maxwell has been through so much in his short life. More than most will ever experience in a lifetime. For those of you who have been following along, thank you for your continued love and support. We still have a ways to go. His journey isn’t over yet. He will still receive treatment up until August of next year, but this…this is a HUGE accomplishment that we are so very proud of. No more Rylaze injections!

Would anyone be interested in contributing to a pajama drive for children staying at Boston Children’s Hospital? This unexpected hospital stay made me realize how many families arrive without extra clothes or pajamas packed for their little ones. We were so grateful the hospital had extra pajamas available for Max, and I’d love to help pay that kindness forward for other families. 💛

I HATE CANCER. Once again it’s stolen an opportunity from us. We were so excited to go to the touch truck event Sunday at Beverly high school. Helicopters, police cars, fire trucks, you name it…now it’s not looking like we will be discharged until Monday. My heart is broken.

Once again cancer throws everything off. Came to clinic for a routine appointment, and now we’re being admitted for fever protocol. Praying we’re out by Sunday so he can go to the touch a truck event at the Beverly high school we were planning on attending. Didn’t plan on max being admitted, so I didn’t bring ANYTHING for overnight stay. I’m overwhelmed, and I need a break. 😓

My oldest daughter came home from school yesterday with tears in her eyes. Having to explain to your oldest child that her brother has cancer is devastating. Having your child tell you that her best friend from school is in the hospital and has just been diagnosed with the same cancer as her brother is equally as devastating. My heart is broken.

Time for a happy post! Marathon Monday was nothing short of ✨magical✨!

Maxwell had the opportunity to be a part of the Patient Partner Program. He was paired with a runner, and we were invited to the pasta party at the Boston Marriott Copley Place. He went on stage and was awarded a Dana-Farber Marathon challenge medal. He was so proud of himself, and the whole experience was absolutely amazing.

Seeing how much was raised for cancer research had me in tears. Maxwell is doing fantastic and continues to show us every day just how strong he is.

We also got the news a few days ago that his Make-A-Wish was approved! We’ll be starting the process of deciding what his wish will be within the month.

It’s hard to believe it’s been almost a year since our world came crashing down, but thanks to all the love and support, we’ve been lifted up and are continuing on with so much strength and determination.
