Faithful investing can help bring ministry vision to life.

At Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Burnsville, Minn., that vision is taking shape through Mission Outpost, where neighbors are welcomed with food, clothing, personal care items, household essentials, dental services and help navigating local resources.

Thanks to a loan from the Mission Investment Fund (MIF), Prince of Peace expanded this work by opening an eye clinic to help neighbors access eye care and glasses.

Investing with MIF helps make stories such as this one possible.

At Mission Outpost Eye Clinic, every patient we serve is possible because of the generosity of people who choose to give their time, talent, and compassion to others.

To our current volunteer optometrists, opticians, support staff, and community helpers: thank you. Your kindness is helping uninsured and underserved neighbors receive essential eye care, affordable glasses, and renewed confidence. You are making a real difference in the lives of children, adults, and families throughout our South Metro community.

Did you know that 1 in 4 school-age children need vision correction, yet many go without the care they need? Undetected vision issues can impact reading, learning, and confidence in school, and for many families without insurance, access to routine eye care simply isn’t an option.

We are looking for licensed optometrists willing to volunteer a flexible 4-hour shift. We provide all equipment, staff support, and scheduling; you simply bring your expertise and compassion.

Clear vision should never be a privilege. In every community, there are individuals who delay or forgo eye care due to cost, access barriers, or lack of insurance. Our volunteer-based clinic exists to close that gap by providing high-quality, compassionate vision care to those who need it most.

If you're not familiar with us, we're a non-profit, volunteer-based eye clinic committed to providing high-quality vision care to individuals and families in our community who face barriers to accessing eye care.

Our clinic offers the following services for a small fee ($25):
-Comprehensive eye exams
-Vision assessments and prescriptions
-Prescription glasses when clinically needed

All care is provided by licensed volunteer optometrists and supported by trained community volunteers who help with patient intake, clinic flow, and operations. Every clinic day is built on teamwork, compassion, and respect.
