I get a lot of questions about what a first session will include…⤵️

A full session typically lasts about 60–90 minutes, with additional time as needed to ensure your horse gets the attention and care they require.

Each appointment begins with a review of your horse’s history, workload, goals, and any current concerns. From there, I perform both static and dynamic observations to assess posture, movement, overall balance, and identify areas that may need extra attention.

Targeted bodywork is then performed to address areas of muscular tension and restriction. Depending on your horse’s individual needs, techniques may include:

• Equine sports massage
• Myofascial release
• Soft tissue mobilization
• Focal point work
• Range of motion exercises
• Stretching

These techniques are used to support relaxation, mobility, comfort, and balanced movement.

After your horse’s session, I’ll provide follow-up stretches or exercises to help maintain comfort and progress between appointments. You will also receive a detailed SOAP note/report outlining observations, findings, and the areas addressed during the session.

This type of session is suitable for most horses and is commonly used as part of a regular maintenance program, especially for horses in moderate work without underlying medical conditions.

Because every horse is different, no two sessions are exactly the same, each appointment is tailored to what your horse needs that day.

Another happy horse🤎
Yesterday’s session focused on helping this horse feel and move his best. It’s always rewarding seeing the release, relaxation, and positive changes that come from bodywork.

Every horse tells a story through their movement, listening to them makes all the difference!!

Deep tissue work through the saddle area is so important for keeping your horse comfortable and performing their best.

The muscles under the saddle take on constant pressure and movement, and when tension builds up it can lead to soreness, restricted movement, behavioral changes, difficulty bending, resistance under saddle, and even compensation throughout the body. Deep tissue massage helps release tight fascia and muscle adhesions, improve circulation, increase flexibility, and support proper movement patterns.

A horse that feels good in their back is often happier, softer, and more willing to work. Regular bodywork can also help identify problem areas early before they turn into bigger issues.

Your horse works hard for you, make sure their body feels just as good as the care you put into their training.

I think I hit the spot😅

A few sweet horses got some well deserved bodywork this weekend, and the results speak for themselves. Better movement, improved comfort, and one very expressive client who clearly approved of his massage! 💆‍♂️

Where better movement meets better performance

Every horse carries tension differently, and even subtle restrictions can affect comfort, behavior, and performance. Through targeted equine massage and bodywork, I help release tight muscles, improve mobility, and support your horse’s overall well being. Whether your horse is competing, in regular training, or simply enjoying life as a trusted partner, bodywork can help them move more freely and feel more comfortable. When your horse feels their best, they can perform with greater ease, confidence, and willingness.

May Availability Update!

I have very limited appointment spots remaining for the rest of May! If your horse has been showing signs of stiffness, soreness, or just isn’t moving quite like themselves, now is a great time to get them scheduled.

Whether your horse is in full competition season, coming back into work, or simply due for maintenance bodywork, I’d love to help keep them feeling and performing their best.

📩 Message me to reserve your spot before the schedule fills up!

What Is Fascia and Why Does It Matter for Your Horse? 🤲🏻

When people think about movement, they often focus on muscles and joints but there’s another incredibly important structure at work: fascia.

Fascia is a continuous web of connective tissue that surrounds and supports every muscle, bone, nerve, and organ in the body. Think of it like a three dimensional network that holds everything together and helps transmit movement throughout the entire horse.

⬇️Why Fascia Matters⬇️
Healthy fascia is flexible and allows the body to move smoothly and efficiently. When fascia becomes restricted due to:

• heavy workload
• Injury
• Repetitive strain
• Poor saddle fit
• Compensation patterns
• Stress

…it can create tension and limit movement in areas far from the original source of the problem.

🤕Signs of Fascial Restrictions
Your horse may show subtle signs such as:

• Difficulty bending in one direction
• Shortened stride
• Trouble picking up a lead
• Knocking poles or rails
• Resistance under saddle
• Uneven muscling
• Changes in behavior or attitude

💆How EMFT Helps
Equine Myofascial Therapy (EMFT) works to release restrictions within the fascial system, helping:

• Improve range of motion
• Reduce compensatory tension
• Support better posture and biomechanics
• Enhance performance
• Promote relaxation and nervous system regulation

Because fascia connects the entire body, addressing restrictions can have a profound effect on how your horse moves and feels.

The Bottom Line-
Movement starts with comfort. When the fascial system is functioning well, your horse can move more freely, perform more efficiently, and feel better overall.

A horse that feels good is a horse that can give you their best!✨

Signs Your Horse May Benefit from Bodywork⬇️

Just like human athletes, horses develop tight muscles, soreness, and compensation patterns from training, competing, trail riding, or even everyday turnout. Sometimes the signs are subtle, but your horse may be telling you they’re uncomfortable.

Here are some common signs your horse may benefit from equine bodywork:

• Difficulty bending or picking up one lead
• Knocking rails suddenly
• Shoulder or hips drifting out in a turn
• Throwing head when riding
• Resistance to collection or engaging the hind end
• Stiffness at the beginning of a ride
• Uneven stride length or shortened movement
• Trouble with transitions
• Bucking, pinning ears, or unusual behavior under saddle
• Sensitivity when grooming or saddling
• Muscle tightness or asymmetry
• Frequent stumbling or tripping
• Decline in performance without an obvious cause
• Difficulty standing square
• Changes in posture or topline development

Bodywork helps release muscle tension, improve range of motion, increase circulation, and support your horse’s overall comfort and performance.

Whether your horse is a high level athlete, weekend trail partner, or senior companion, regular maintenance can help them move and feel their best💆‍♂️

If you’ve noticed any of these signs, your horse may be due for a session.
