a little reminder 🤍✨🙏🏼

05/17/2026

Sometimes healing looks like falling apart before finally coming back together.

The relationship ended.
The career changed.
The version of you that once survived no longer fits who you are becoming.

Recovery is not linear, and growth is not failure.

At Point Break Recovery and Recovery Is A Beach, we believe healing means giving yourself permission to evolve — even when it feels uncomfortable, uncertain, or messy for a while.

You are allowed to outgrow people.
You are allowed to change direction.
You are allowed to rebuild your life in a way that finally feels peaceful.

Some of the most beautiful transformations begin the moment someone decides they deserve more. 🌊

Send this to someone who needs the reminder that starting over is not failing — it is courage. ⚡️🦋

Stop treating recovery like one big test where you have to choose perfectly every time.

Growth is not about getting every answer right. It is about being willing to try, stumble, learn, and keep going because you believe there is something better on the other side.

Failure is not the end of your story. Sometimes it is the beginning of clarity, healing, peace, and alignment.

Keep going. You are not behind. You are becoming. ⚡️🦋

The science doesn’t match the story we’ve been sold. 🤔

Alcohol is a carcinogen. It impacts your brain, your mental health, your hormones, your sleep, and your ability to cope with everyday life. None of this makes you weak or broken. It makes you human in a culture that normalized something harmful and told us to ignore the cost.

This isn’t about shame or fear. It’s about awareness. Because you can’t make an informed choice if you’re only hearing half the truth.

Save this for when you need the reminder or share in case someone needs to see it too.

If you’re looking for a place to start, Point Break & Recovery Is a Beach is here for you.

05/06/2026

The most meaningful chapters of life often begin outside of the comfort zone that once kept us stuck.

Recovery is not the end of your story.
It’s the moment you finally begin writing a new one.

At Point Break Recovery and Recovery is a Beach, we believe healing happens when people give themselves permission to step into something different — with support, purpose, accountability, and hope.

You are not defined by your hardest moments.
You are the author of what comes next.

One decision.
One sunrise.
One day at a time. 🌊

05/05/2026

When I quit drinking, I thought I was ready for “hard.” I wasn’t ready for how exposed it would feel. I wasn’t ready for the crying, the identity crisis, the nights where the cravings felt louder than logic. I wasn’t ready for the way it would feel worse before it felt better. And because all I saw were before-and-after photos and “best decision ever” posts, I assumed I was doing something wrong.

I wasn’t glowing. I was grieving. Grieving the coping mechanism. Grieving the version of me who relied on it. Grieving the illusion that it was helping.

The messy middle is where most people turn back. Not because they can’t do it, but because they think the discomfort means they’re failing. It doesn’t. It means your brain is rewiring. It means your nervous system is recalibrating. It means you’re finally feeling what you used to numb.

Sobriety is worth it. But the beginning can feel raw, unsteady, and lonely. If you’re in that part right now, nothing is wrong with you. You’re not behind. You’re not weak. You’re in the part no one posts about. And that part is where everything actually changes.

Save this for when you need the reminder or share in case someone needs to see it too.

I said what I said 💅🏼

I used to have high standards for 95% of my life but somehow alcohol used to get a pass… the one thing that i’d let in that would make me miserable, disconnected to everyone I cared about, hold me back from achieving my goals, make me gain weight, let myself down (the list goes ONNNN).

Then, a little over 3.5 years ago - I decided I was cutting it out & I never looked back! I’ve not got one single regret about raising my standards & creating a life where there’s zero space for alcohol to worm 🪱 it’s way back in again… Not one 🤎

camarillo & ventura county community — we’re so grateful 🤍

our spring open house at recovery is a beach was such a meaningful day connecting with local providers, partners, and community members in the mental health and recovery space.

we were so engaged in conversation, tours with Beth (Thank you Beth!), and connection that we completely forgot to take photos — which honestly says everything about how special the turnout was. thank you to everyone who came out and spent time with us.

a special thank you to q diagnostics laboratory for sponsoring our beautiful strawberry shortcake breakfast spread — such a thoughtful and delicious touch to the morning 🍓

for those who weren’t able to attend, recovery is a beach is proud to offer in-network mental health services in camarillo, including:
• intensive outpatient program (IOP)
• outpatient mental health programs
• structured, supportive care for continued recovery

we are currently accepting clients and are in-network with: all major plans
kaiser permanente • tricare • triwest • blue shield • anthem

for clients needing a higher level of care, point break recovery (ventura) is our sister location offering detox services, allowing for seamless continuation of care from detox → outpatient treatment.

if you missed the tour or would like to schedule a visit, please reach out to christine — she’d be more than happy to connect, discuss your client’s needs, and help guide the best next steps.

if you took any photos during the event, feel free to share and tag us — we’d love to see them 🤍

I’ve been thinking a lot about friendships lately.

Because no one really prepares you for how much they can change…
especially in sobriety.

Adult friendships are already complicated.
Add healing, boundaries, and a completely new lifestyle… and things can feel even harder.

Some relationships grow with you.
Some don’t.

Some people understand your changes.
Some question them.
Some quietly fade away.

And if you’re in early sobriety, that can feel really lonely.

But you’re not doing anything wrong.

You’re learning who you are—
without substances,
without numbing,
without shrinking yourself to fit into spaces that no longer align.

That’s not loss.
That’s growth.

At Recovery Is a Beach and Point Break Recovery, we see this every day—
people navigating friendships, boundaries, and identity in a completely new way.

And the truth is…
the right people will meet you where you are.

The ones meant for your life now will support your healing, not challenge it.

If friendships feel confusing or heavy right now, you’re not alone.

You’re evolving.

And sometimes… that means your circle has to evolve too. adultfriendships boundaries mentalhealthmatters recoverycommunity onedayatatime
