Ever found yourself in a power struggle with a 7-year-old—only to realize you sound like one too? 😅

Power is one of our five core needs, yet it often gets tangled up with control and conflict. When we reframe power as a need instead of a problem, we open the door to connection instead of chaos.

Join me at Vitalize Physical Therapy & Wellness on Monday, October 21, where I’ll share practical tools and real-life strategies to help you:
✨ Stay calm in the struggle
✨ Prevent future battles before they start
✨ Understand why power shows up in every stage of life

Whether you’re parenting toddlers, teens, or even navigating adult relationships—this class will help you move from conflict to cooperation (with a few laughs along the way).

When your child has a meltdown, it’s not bad behavior—it’s communication.

Big emotions can feel overwhelming for little ones who don’t yet have the words to express what’s going on inside. To help them heal, we need to let them feel. 💛

Here are 4 powerful ways to respond when the tears come:

👉 Name it – “You’re crying… sounds like you’re having some really big feelings.”
👉 Normalize it – “Tears are okay. It’s good to let it out.”
👉 Empathize – “This is hard. I see how upset you are.”
👉 Offer help – “Do you want a hug or some space? I’m here if you need me.”

Save this for when emotions run high—and remember, connection always comes before correction.

You’re not supposed to get it right all the time.
Parenting is full of love, lessons, and yes, mistakes. But that doesn’t mean you’re failing. It means you’re human. 💛

Give yourself grace. You’re learning and leading at the same time. That’s no small feat.

Confidence starts with choice. 💬
One of the most effective ways to build your child’s confidence is by offering them choices, big or small. Why? Because one of our five core needs is power—the ability to make decisions and feel in control.

Let them pick the bedtime story and decide what to wear. These simple decisions help them feel heard, valued, and capable.

Choice gives them a voice. And that voice is powerful.

If you've ever said, “Things should slow down after this week,” you’re not alone — and probably a parent.

Because let’s be honest: the to-do list never ends, and the pace never really slows.

Here’s your gentle reminder that you're doing enough — even when it feels like you're running on empty. 💛
