📣 Deaf & Hard of Hearing Community Meetings — 2026–2027

Families, students, educators, and community members are invited to join San Juan Unified’s upcoming DHH Community Meetings!

These meetings are an opportunity to connect with other families, share experiences, learn about resources, and help strengthen support for Deaf and Hard of Hearing students across SJUSD.

These conversations matter, and family voices are an important part of improving communication access, services, inclusion, and support for our DHH students.

We were so excited and grateful to participate as the chosen charity for the evening — and what a packed night it was!

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who came out to support the Carmichael Elks BINGO event and our Special Education Advocacy PTA of SJUSD (SEPTA). 💙

We are so thankful for opportunities like this that help us connect with our community, spread the word about SEPTA, and build support for students and families with IEPs and 504 Plans.

A few additional details are trickling in for tonight’s BINGO event, so we wanted to share a quick payment update:

💵 Snack Bar: Cash only
🍽️ Dinner at the Lodge: Cash or card
🎱 BINGO: Cash only

There is also an ATM available at the Lodge, but please note that it charges a $3 fee.

We recommend bringing cash with you so you’re ready for BINGO and snacks. See you tonight! 💙

There will be a salad bar and loaded potato bar available for $13, so there will be a dinner option if you’d like to eat while you play.

Who’s ready for BINGO?! 🎉

Join us Monday, August 31 at the Carmichael Elks Lodge #2103 for their regular Monday Night Bingo!

💙 SEPTA has been selected as the nonprofit beneficiary for the evening, and we are incredibly thankful to the Carmichael Elks for this opportunity!

DETAILS:
• Doors open: 5:30 PM
• Early Bird Bingo: 6:30 PM
• Regular games: Around 7:00 PM
• $20 for 20 games
• Open to the public!
• Small Snack Bar (Possibly)

Bingo has lots of regulars, so if you’re joining us, help spread the word about SEPTA to the people around you! Tell them who we are, why our mission matters, and invite them to become part of our community. 💙

We’ll also have a SEPTA information table near the entrance with flyers and ways to join, donate, and get involved.

Food options may be limited, so I encourage you to eat beforehand if you’re able.
