Ride with Purpose
A friend recently sent me a video of a woman celebrating a massive milestone: her cookbook was voted a top pick by Food & Wine and named one of Amazon’s "Best Books of the Year So Far."
Hearing an announcement like that might make you wonder: Where did she get her culinary degree? What qualifications make her worthy of this kind of recognition? Do I wish I were achieving that kind of success?
The truth behind her success is surprising. During the pandemic, she had to quit her job. With two small children at home, she realized "something had to give." She started posting videos online—cooking and sharing culinary advice. Interestingly, her formal background is actually a bachelor's and master's degree in psychology! But cooking was her true passion, as proven by the incredible new adventure she bravely took on.
Personally, I wouldn't promote her specific cookbook, as it doesn't align with the healthy lifestyle I champion for others. However, I deeply admire her tenacity. She traveled down a very hard road to uncover her true purpose and live it out.
Her story is a reminder that no matter where you are in life right now, you do not have to stay stuck there. Life brings unexpected changes, and sometimes those exact disruptions steer you directly toward the passions you have always desired to pursue.
My challenge to you this week:
Wherever you find yourself today, go deeper. Ask yourself and ask God: Am I truly where I want to be? If the answer is no, ask God for the direction and courage to move toward the inner passions He gave you. Ask Him to help you achieve everything you were uniquely designed to fulfill.
As the scripture reminds us: "Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails." (Proverbs 19:21)
Ride with your purpose!
