Ear infection season hits and most parents go straight for antibiotics. We get it — you want your baby to feel better fast. 💙
But did you know that:
The eustachian tube — the tiny tube responsible for draining fluid from the ear — is directly influenced by the muscles and nerves of the upper cervical spine. When a child has tension or restriction at C1 and C2, those muscles tighten, the tube can’t open and drain the way it should, and fluid sits. That stagnant fluid becomes the perfect environment for infection to take hold.
This is why so many kids get ear infection after ear infection. The infection gets treated. The drainage problem never does.
A gentle upper cervical adjustment — we’re talking pressure lighter than what you’d use to check a tomato for ripeness — removes the interference affecting that drainage pathway. The nervous system gets the signal, the muscles release and the body does what it was designed to do.
Chiropractic doesn’t treat ear infections. It allows the nervous system to be clear so the body can handle them on its own.
The difference it makes for kids is something we never get tired of witnessing. 💚
