Mother Amadea Mission Hospital in Kenya recently received a new ultrasound machine. This is a good reminder of the difference a single piece of medical equipment can make in a place where resources are few and access to care is limited.

The care for mothers and babies has made remarkable improvement recently with the help of this new equipment. Ultrasound imaging has allowed clinicians to diagnose complications earlier, monitor pregnancies more carefully and respond more quickly when something is wrong with the mother or baby.

Uyen became pregnant at the age of 40 and was convinced by her boyfriend to end the pregnancy through taking the abortion pill. After taking the first of the 2 pills, she immediately regretted it. She researched how to reverse the effects of the pill and found APRN (Abortion Pill Rescue Network). She was connected to a local pregnancy help clinic that was able to assist her with the APR (Abortion Pill Reversal) protocol. Today she is a mother to a 2 year old boy.

Uyen shared her story in court in the first Abortion Pill Reversal (APR) trial in the U.S., which has implications beyond just the state of California for pregnancy help and free speech.
