Hi Friends,
I would be remiss if I did not take a moment to share these photos of me and my father, Stephen.
It’s wild to me that today makes 30 years since he died.
It also marks 30 years since my relationship with deep grief and painful loss began. 💔
As a 23 year old “daddy’s girl”, I was blessed with a loving, hardworking and very funny father who was my biggest cheerleader.
I was also experiencing devastating loss and change that would take decades for me to understand the depths of.
As I weather this day that has me feeling odd and out of sorts with a rainbow of feelings swirling around, I’m reminded of one of the greatest gifts my dad gave me.
💚 A safe space to be heard. 💚
The loss of my father is a very big reason why my mission is to “create safe spaces where loss can be shared and grief can be heard”.
I never thought this loss experience (and the others that soon followed) would (or could) lead me anywhere…but when I let them, they did. ✨
Today marks 30 years since one of the darkest days of my life, but it also symbolizes all that I carry with me from the man who loved me most.
Stephen’s light is why I do the work I do. ✨
His loss helped me to recognize that as humans, we all need and deserve that safe space when life deals us a devastating hand.
I hope that each of you finds a safe space when you need it and that you count this page as one of them. ✨
Be well and thanks for sharing all you do.
~E 💚
