💜🎉 HAPPY 10TH BIRTHDAY TO HEZZY THE EPILEPSY WARRIOR! 🎉💜
Today, September 10th, my baby officially enters DOUBLE DIGITS! 🥹👑 From the little 8 lb. 11 oz. baby I held in my arms to the smart, loving, determined young man standing before me today—what a blessing it has been to watch you grow.
This birthday means a little more. This year, epilepsy became part of Hezzy’s story, but I refuse to let it become the definition of his life. Through seizures, medication changes, doctor visits, uncertainty, and learning a new normal, Hezzy kept being HEZZY. 💜
He kept smiling. He kept learning. He made Honor Roll. He learned more about taking care of himself. He became more independent. And even on the days when Mom was afraid, he showed me what courage looks like.
My prayer for your 10th year is bigger than epilepsy. 🙏🏾 I pray for protection, healing, wisdom, happiness, friendships, success, independence, and a childhood filled with memories that have absolutely nothing to do with seizures.
Hezekiah, you are NOT your diagnosis. You are a son of God, a scholar, a gamer, a dreamer, a fighter, my baby, and a young man with an entire future waiting for him. 👑

This Sunday, we're choosing FAITH over fear.

Living with epilepsy means some days come with questions we can't answer. We may not know when another seizure will happen or understand every reason behind it—but we refuse to allow the unknown to steal today's joy. 🧠💜

Hezzy reminds me that **strength doesn't always roar.** Sometimes strength is waking up, taking your medicine, going to school, learning, laughing, dreaming, and continuing to be a kid despite everything your body has been through.

📖 “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.” — 2 Timothy 1:7 KJV

Today we thank God for:
💜 Another day
💜 Another opportunity
💜 Every seizure-free moment
💜 Every lesson learned
💜 Every milestone reached
💜 Every person who supports this journey
💜 And the strength to keep going when life doesn't give us all the answers.

To every child living with epilepsy: YOU are not your diagnosis. You are smart. You are capable. You are loved. You are courageous. And you still have a beautiful future ahead of you.

And to every parent watching, praying, researching, advocating, losing sleep, and learning right alongside their child—keep the faith.

Lil Wayne has publicly shared his experience living with epilepsy and having seizures. His journey is a reminder for Hezzy and other children living with epilepsy that a diagnosis does NOT cancel your dreams.💜

As a mom, I want Hezekiah to grow up seeing examples of people who faced challenges like his and still went after their goals.

Today we’re not focusing on what epilepsy can interrupt.
We’re celebrating everything Hezzy keeps pushing through.💪🏾

Every day may not be easy, but every day is another opportunity to show courage, strength, faith, and determination.

Epilepsy is part of Hezekiah’s journey, but it will never define his future. He is still learning, growing, smiling, dreaming, and showing the world just how strong a young warrior can be. 💜

🙏🏾 Friday Prayer:
*God, continue to cover Hezekiah and every child living with epilepsy. Give them strength on the difficult days, peace when there is uncertainty, and confidence to know they are capable of amazing things. Give their families wisdom, patience, and faith for the journey ahead. Amen.

💜🧠 WELCOME TO HEZZY THE EPILEPSY WARRIOR🧠💜
“Beating the Odds, One Day at a Time.”

Hello everyone! 👋🏾 My name is Ieishe, and I am the proud mother of Hezekiah, aka Hezzy—a smart, loving, determined 9-year-old who is learning every day that a diagnosis does NOT determine his destiny.

On January 13, 2026, our lives unexpectedly changed when Hezzy experienced seizures while sick with Flu A. What started as one frightening moment became the beginning of a journey filled with doctors, medications, questions, adjustments, fear, faith, education, and—most importantly—STRENGTH.

Hezzy's first medication was Keppra. While we were working to control his seizures, we noticed behavioral changes that made an already challenging season even harder. His medical team eventually transitioned him to Trileptal, and we continue learning what works best for him.

We still don't have every answer.

What we do know is that lack of sleep, missed medication doses, and becoming overheated are situations we pay very close attention to. We've also added an EpiMonitor to our journey to give us additional information and some peace of mind—especially as Hezzy grows and works toward greater independence.

But here's what I refuse to let epilepsy overshadow:

🎓 Hezzy made Honor Roll ALL SCHOOL YEAR!
💜 He continues showing up.
🧠 He continues learning about his body.
💪🏾 He continues becoming stronger and more independent.
🙏🏾 And through it all, we continue trusting God.

As his mother, I'm learning when to protect, when to advocate, when to educate—and when to step back just enough to allow my little boy to grow into the young man he's becoming.

That's why I created this page.

Hezzy the Epilepsy Warrior is a place where we will share our real journey—the victories AND the difficult days—while spreading epilepsy awareness, educating others, encouraging families, celebrating Hezzy's accomplishments, and reminding children living with epilepsy that they are so much more than a diagnosis.

This isn't a page about what epilepsy has taken away.

This is a page about everything Hezzy is STILL becoming. 💜

If sharing his journey helps one parent feel more informed, one teacher understand a student better, one child feel less different, or one family realize they're not walking this road alone, then telling our story has purpose.
