I am just resting and digesting, as we say, after a three day weekend of learning, intensive healing moments, and bringing horses, humans, and EMDR together to become Equine-Assisted EMDR.

Thanks to EMDR International Association for the continued support, providing EMDRIA Credits for EMDR Therapists attending this course!

The theme for this cohort was deep healing, and dropping into that depth, from day ONE. Over and over again, the theme came in of "I thought this was just a training, but it was more for me than that; it was so healing for me." This, in and of itself, is what makes my heart sing.

So much gratitude for this round of training hosted at Golden Horse Counseling. Thank you to all of you who travelled from so far and wide, to get trained in EquiLateral: The Equine-Assisted EMDR Protocol. I can't wait to see where Equine-Assisted EMDR takes you!

Day one, of the 2026 EquiLateral EA-EMDR course in Spanish Fork Utah, hosted by Golden Horse Counseling! Our first day was a deep, real, healing, deep dive into learning Equine-Assisted EMDR!

Nothing like four days in the Redwoods to remind you of the big picture, the power of nature, and the ever present reminder of what is real, and what is not. A thank you to the Redwoods, such a beautiful place for “being” post so much “doing” of late! And, a reminder, that these moments also can be ours anywhere, not just on travel or in majestic places. That “being” is actually available anywhere. We just have to pause and notice. ❤️

Post the high intensity of the EMDRIA Conference, it seemed a nice time to dabble in water color for some peace and stillness! My experiment for today — a little tiny painting of Port Appin, Scotland, a lovely spot I visited while in Argyll for a DBR related event last year. My mother and my grandmother were artists, and their skill intimidated me as a child, so art was off the table. So, I am playing with it now, because, why the heck not; adults get to play with paints. ❤️
