It’s been almost a year since my
Last post…I just kept praying for things to be different, but they are not. On Monday we got the news that I felt in my heart for quite some time- the BMT failed and Mimi still has sickle cell. There are still a lot of questions as to how severe it will be along with some pretty serious long term damage she has from the transplant itself (severe iron overload and AVN in her hip from the chemo and steroids).
My heart is broken. But I chose to trust God from the beginning and I will praise the name of Jesus even as we transition back to the sickle cell world. Please pray for her to somehow have a milder path than she did before. We just finally stopped her last immunosuppressive medication so time will tell now how sick she will be without all the blood and drugs to support her. Jesus I trust in you.
