Some days the priors help. Other days, they haunt you.

What a strange, beautiful year.

Medicine still anchors my life, but it no longer defines its edges. Somewhere between reading scans, building new 1099 ventures, launching a brand, and chasing long-delayed moments across the world, my perspective shifted.

Fifteen years ago, a missed Tiësto concert in Rome. This year, a sunrise set with the same friend, in a different country, with a lot more clarity. Japan. Italy. Miami nights. New businesses taking shape. A growing community. Health. Family. Momentum.

Physician life isn’t just hospitals and call rooms. It’s choosing experiences that make the work sustainable. It’s friendships that stretch across decades. It’s building something bigger than a job title - slowly, intentionally, imperfectly.

This year felt weird because it was transitional. Less about arrival. More about foundation.
2026 is coming. Hope ya’ll are ready.

What a weird year. One moment it’s work, routines, and responsibility, and the next it’s finding yourself in Tokyo drinking great bourbon, eating unforgettable meals, and navigating experiences that feel completely foreign as a Westerner. Travel has a way of recalibrating perspective—especially for physicians and professionals who spend most days in high-responsibility environments. Japan was precise, humbling, strange in the best way, and deeply memorable. Incredible restaurants, late-night whiskey pours, culture shock moments, and reminders that life outside medicine and work is where balance, creativity, and meaning are often rediscovered. If this year taught me anything, it’s that the experiences that feel unexpected are usually the ones worth chasing.

To the woman who manages the chaos with more grace than I’ll ever have. Emerson once wrote, ‘The ornament of a house is the friends who frequent it,’ but in this house, the ornament is definitely you. You’re the heart of everything we do. Happy Mother’s Day mi amor ❤️🫶🏻
