Lucky - our Tennessee walking horse - rescued off the show ring of inhumane abuse.

He was near death last week and rallied back.
In this weeklong ordeal;
He taught me many lessons as he has taught his whole life.

But this one was HUGE!

The entire essence of the Farm; what we facilitate how we facilitate; who we let in here - is now all changing.

We have always been particular with our intake process; as to who we serve.

Lucky’s near death experience is asking us to be even more discerning as we move forward in life.

Life changes.

At HOCHOKA Retreat Center - programs offered for deep inner healing; body pain release (forever); and a more authentic living way.

Founder - Kimberly Clarke has been facilitating wellness, prevention and self growth programs 40 years. Has lived with horses and many other animals 45 years.

Each of us are versed in knowing the deep connections and insights, each of the animals that come through our lives bring.

COME learn how your own animal is your teacher and healer. And that EVERY “condition” your animal holds in its body - is a message for YOU - about your own health, emotionally, mentally, physically, spiritually.

WHEN you begin to understand the animals are mirroring, what is within ME; as their steward - they HEAL their affiliations; and you release beliefs, patterns; pains; yearnings of your own life.

COME to our programs for healing.
To unearth the deep hidden treasure/messages held tightly within - the subconscious and unconscious.

This is why people cycle.
This is also why animals of their owners do not heal = humans are not hearing the animal !
That’s why people don’t heal - they are not quiet enough inside to hear truth.
They don’t get down under deep enough.
They surface ride and they won’t quick fixes.

Animals know much better. They live constantly deep within. And across the veil.
And are living from the subconscious and the unconscious.
THEY KNOW !

Animals as teachers and healers - has always been my vibe; my ride; and my lifeline

Come visit!

Our next program is
Death & Dying.
It is not grief work.
It IS DEEPER !
It always is !

All programs can be seen on website.
And scheduled upon request and availability.

Animals are the gentle heartbeat of the Earth, a living reminder that our planet is shared, alive, and bound together by countless threads of life. They are the silent witnesses to history, the keepers of balance in nature, and the companions who walk alongside us in ways that touch our souls. Every creature, from the tiniest ant carrying more than its weight to the majestic lion ruling its pride, exists with a purpose, adding color and rhythm to the great tapestry of life. They are not ornaments or background scenery—they are the melody to which the world dances. In their eyes, we see reflections of innocence, resilience, and truths far older than humanity itself.

Among all these creatures, cats hold a special kind of magic. They are not bound to us by duty, nor are they chained by expectation—they are free spirits who choose, with quiet grace, to share their lives with us. To be loved by a cat is to be chosen, and that choice carries a weight of meaning. Their love is not loud or showy—it is subtle, deliberate, and honest. A cat will not pretend to adore you if they do not feel it; when they come to you, it is because they want to, not because they must. And that, perhaps, is why their affection feels so pure.

A cat’s movements are like liquid poetry. Watch them leap, and you will see the perfect blend of precision and power. Watch them stretch, and you will see the art of relaxation at its finest. Their whiskers twitch like delicate instruments, sensing the world in ways we cannot. Their tails are not just for balance—they are expressive flags of mood, speaking volumes without a single sound. Their ears, swiveling in perfect sync with the smallest noise, are a reminder that cats are always listening, always aware, even in their moments of rest.

There is something enchanting about the way a cat seeks out the warmest, coziest spots in the house, as though they are drawn to comfort the way flowers turn toward sunlight. They find the patch of sunlight on the floor, curl into it, and become part of it—soft fur glowing with golden warmth. In that moment, they embody peace in its purest form. If you sit beside them quietly, you may find that their calmness seeps into you, soothing your racing thoughts and slowing the pace of your heart.

Cats also teach us lessons without speaking. They show us the value of independence, reminding us that it is okay to enjoy solitude and that alone does not mean lonely. They show us that it is possible to be gentle and strong at the same time, to be graceful yet powerful, to love without losing oneself. They remind us that trust is precious and must be earned, but when given, it is unshakable.

And yet, cats are not only graceful—they are delightfully silly. They will chase invisible foes, pounce on crumpled paper, and transform a cardboard box into a fortress. They will bat at dangling strings with the focus of a hunter and then flop over, exposing their belly in a sudden wave of vulnerability (though not always inviting a touch!). They keep life interesting with their unpredictability, reminding us that joy often comes from the smallest, simplest things.

But cats are not alone in their ability to make the world better. Dogs greet us with unconditional joy, their tails wagging like banners of pure happiness. Birds fill the air with music, their songs weaving into the soundtrack of life. Horses carry both strength and gentleness, running like the wind yet standing still in patient companionship. Dolphins dance through the ocean waves, playful and intelligent. Rabbits hop softly through fields, embodying quiet innocence. Every animal has its own gift, its own way of making our lives richer.

Still, there is a quiet, timeless beauty in cats that feels almost spiritual. Perhaps it is because they have walked alongside humans for thousands of years, worshiped as sacred in ancient civilizations and loved as companions in the modern age. They have seen our history unfold from a place of quiet observation. And yet, despite the centuries, they remain true to themselves. They have not bent their nature to please us; instead, they have made us bend ours to understand them.

When a cat curls up on your lap, when they rest their head against you and close their eyes, they are giving you a gift—a moment of trust, a fragment of their guarded heart. Their purr is not just a sound; it is a vibration that reaches into your very soul, melting tension, softening edges, and whispering that in this moment, all is well. It is an unspoken promise that you are safe, and that love can be as simple as warmth and presence.

The world can be loud, chaotic, and unkind at times, but animals—especially cats—are like gentle anchors in the storm. They do not ask for wealth, status, or perfection. They do not judge us for our flaws. They ask only for kindness, for care, and for respect. In return, they give us something priceless: the reminder that love can be quiet, that joy can be small and still profound, and that life is worth savoring in its gentlest moments.

To live with animals is to live with constant reminders of beauty, patience, and connection. To live with cats is to experience a unique kind of companionship—one that is honest, independent, and deeply rewarding. In their eyes, we find reflection; in their presence, we find peace; and in their love, we find that the simplest bonds are often the strongest.

So here’s to the lovely animals of the world—and to cats most of all. May we always cherish them, protect them, and learn from the gentle wisdom they carry in their hearts and paws. For in a world that often forgets to slow down, they remind us that sometimes, the most important thing we can do… is simply to be. Helping animals is an act of profound goodness that benefits both the animals themselves and the human spirit. Animals in need, whether abandoned, injured, or abused, deserve compassion and care. By offering assistance, we alleviate their suffering, provide them with safety and comfort, and give them a chance at a better life. Furthermore, helping animals cultivates empathy, kindness, and responsibility within us. It fosters a deeper connection to the natural world and reinforces the importance of respecting all living creatures. Ultimately, acts of kindness towards animals enrich our own lives and contribute to a more compassionate and harmonious family.
