I am so excited to be returning to my passion as a birth doula. After taking time to focus on my family, education, and all places of nurturing in my life, I am so blessed to step back into this calling.

Dana, thank you so much for choosing me to be a part of your birth. You did it girl! ❤️
We went through 9 hours of intense labor and through it all you remained calm and remembered that God is in control.
I feel blessed to be a part of something so beautiful; you are a warrior and you made beauty from the pain. I will forever remember and embrace this experience with the love I felt in the birth room.
D, thank you for allowing me to help support your family in a time so intimate. I enjoyed partnering with you to support your beautiful wife. You were an amazing support partner and I have no doubt you will continue to wholeheartedly love and support your family through the postpartum period.

"See that tiny pink bead on my lanyard? That is the size of a newborn's tiny tummy. When baby is born, the birthing parent produces colostrum for baby, which is the perfect for baby. Colostrum contains just the amount of food baby needs and passes antibodies. It's ! In this photo, I have a standard 2 ounce bottle of formula that is given to new babies. So, if baby's belly is only the size of a marble, what happens when baby is fed 2 ounces? Well, baby will usually spit up all the extra, which then can be spinned into baby having reflux. When really, baby is just being over fed. This leads to interventions like formula changes, antacid medications, etc. It's important that we give families all the available information so they can make the best decisions for their families. This is what home birth looks like,

Midwives sitting at the table chatting, sipping coffee and water.

Your best friend sitting on the floor playing with your toddler.

Your partner holding your hand while you work with the waves that rush over you to bring your baby into this universe.

Home birth isn’t how the movies depict birth. It isn’t an agonizing mother in hospital bed. It isn’t a woman who’s left to do the work all on her own. It isn’t unfamiliar doctors and nurses ushering in & out of your hospital room.

Birth is,
Powerful.
A rite of passage.
Transforming.
Empowering.
Normal.
