𝗤: 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝘄𝗲 𝗳𝗶𝗹𝗺𝗲𝗱 𝗶𝘀 𝗯𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗻𝗲𝘄, 𝗶𝘁’𝘀 𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗱 “𝗕𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗢𝗻𝗲”. 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗹𝗶𝗸𝗲 𝘄𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗼𝗻𝗲?

We wrote “Become One” at practice actually. Since we all live in different states, we usually write by stitching ideas together in the studio and refine later. This song came so naturally (and I guess from trying a new songwriting technique) that it took minimal editing after the initial idea was written.

𝗤: 𝗟𝘆𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆, 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗺𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗱𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗵𝗼𝗽𝗲 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗶𝘁?

“Become One” and the upcoming EP as a whole were written as a concept based around the short story “The Yellow Wallpaper” by Charlotte Perkins Gilman. Both touch on themes ranging from postpartum depression to the historical neglect of women’s mental health and losing sanity. “Become One” finds our main character at the end of her journey, completely losing her mind after being locked in a room for a month in an attempt to cure a bout of depression.

𝗤: 𝗗𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝘆 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗶𝗼 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗻𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝘀𝗼𝗻𝗴/𝗿𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗱?

We finished post production with our amazing friend Elliot Merriman, and now we’re just waiting for the feature to be finished. This song is a part of an EP that we’re currently finishing, and hopefully will release shortly after our upcoming EP.

I’ve been working on Wild on and off for the past year and some change, and so many ideas have transformed and culminated over that time. Wild will be home to some really dope video series, mostly based in nature, but all focussed around highlighting Charlotte’s local music and arts, encouraging collaboration and connection, and inspiring creatives to do what they do - create.

S/o to everyone who has worked on a Wild project so far, from the artists to the crew. And notably and for investing in the project. The stuff we make is only possible bc of the people who choose to put the time and TLC in to make it happen. You guys are the best, and CLT is fu**in dope. We out here 🌲
