Somewhere we decided struggling in silence was a flex. It's not. It's just lonely.

If this hit different, come talk to me. That's what I'm here for.

Rest is not optional. It is necessary.

In the helping profession, we talk a lot about showing up for others. Holding space. Being present. Supporting people through some of their hardest moments. And while that work is meaningful, it is also depleting.

I’ve noticed a pattern in myself. Around day 90 of consistently pouring out, I feel it. The mental fatigue. The emotional weight. The quiet depletion that does not always show up right away, but builds over time.

I try to be intentional about rest during the week. Creating space. Taking breaks. Slowing down when I can. But life happens. Responsibilities build. And sometimes rest becomes the thing that gets pushed aside.

I am just coming off of a family vacation, and it was a needed reset. Real rest. Slower mornings. Laughter. Eight plus hours of sleep. The kind of rest that you do not realize you need until you finally allow yourself to have it.

This morning, my husband sent a simple text to me and my family. A reminder to take time to breathe today. To hold onto what we felt during vacation, even as we return to real life.

So now I am passing that reminder to you.

Take time. Breathe. Rest before your body forces you to.

A lot of strong people are running on empty and calling it normal.
It is not.

New Post!

The Strong Black Woman. You have probably heard it, been called it, or even worn it like a badge of honor. At first glance, it sounds empowering. But when we slow down and really look at it, there is another side that often goes unspoken. Strong Black Woman Syndrome is not just about strength. It is...

✨ ISO: Black women who are craving a little more softness in their week ✨

Are you…
🌱 In search of a space where you don’t have to carry it all?
🌱 Tired of being “the strong one” and longing for rest + authenticity?
🌱 Wanting community with other Black women who get it without explanation?

That’s exactly why I created The Soft Place — a virtual support group designed for Black women to connect, rest, and return to themselves.

We meet Thursdays at 6 PM EST via Zoom. It’s part grounding, part honest conversation, and all about creating space to just be.

A few spots are still open. DM me if you (or someone you know) has been looking for this. 💜

✨ Today’s the day ✨

The Soft Place launches tonight.
A space for Black women to breathe, rest, and reconnect—without the pressure to perform or hold it all together.

I created this group because I know how rare it is to have somewhere you can simply be. Tonight, we begin.

Here’s to softness, healing, and community.
