It has been a pleasure to be the dialect coach for this amazingly talented group of actors! Hope the cast and crew of Theatre Charlotte's "Come From Away" have a wonderful run. Break a leg!

Tonight, we open the doors on Theatre Charlotte’s 99th season with 𝘊𝘰𝘮𝘦 𝘍𝘳𝘰𝘮 𝘈𝘸𝘢𝘺. The musical tells the story of what happened after September 11, 2001, when 7,000 unexpected visitors found themselves stranded in a small town in Newfoundland and the people there opened their homes and hearts to them. We are honored to be able to tell this story 25 years later and bear witness to the genuine hope and kindness that this community shared with the world. Our cast and crew are ready to welcome you into the theatre this evening for a packed house opening night! Very excited to have started my dialect coaching gig with this amazing cast of performers!! Two of my Favorite things: My morning latte AND supporting gender affirming care! I had a blast chatting with colleagues from Charlotte Trans Health last night at Queen City Grounds, who are launching this delicious new blend to support our mission to provide accessible, affirming care!

Some people think they are being gentle or “saving” their voice by whispering, but this is a bad idea! It actually requires muscle tension to whisper—your false folds are tensing to prevent your true vocal folds from vibrating, and we want to avoid muscle tension when engaging our voice.

Instead, when you are feeling vocally fatigued, take a voice nap!
Try to get 10 minutes of silence, per 6o minutes of voice use.
