“We’ve Always Done It This Way”
“But we’ve always done it this way.”
That might explain why a process exists.
It doesn’t automatically mean the process still makes sense.
Organizations change.
Teams grow. Technology changes. Requirements change. Client needs change. Roles evolve.
But sometimes the workflow stays exactly the same.
Then years later, people are completing unnecessary steps because nobody has stopped to ask:
Does this process still make sense for the organization we have today?
Your workflows should support how your organization operates now—not preserve a process simply because that’s how it was done five years ago.
Review it.
Question it.
Simplify it where you can.
And change it when it no longer serves the work.
Tradition isn’t a workflow strategy.
