Anxiety doesn’t always need to be fought with thoughts. Sometimes, we can start with the body.
In this video, I talk about how breathing, touch, and other sensory experiences can help bring our attention back to the present when anxiety takes over.
You might notice me holding and moving a beaded bracelet through my hands while I talk. This wasn’t planned.
I was actually nervous — it was my first time speaking to the camera in English. Without really thinking about it, I started moving the bracelet through my fingers and noticing the feeling of the beads against my skin.
That simple tactile sensation gave me something concrete to focus on and helped me stay present.
Sometimes grounding doesn’t have to be complicated.
Feel the texture.
Notice the sensation.
Come back to where you are.
You don’t always have to think your way back to yourself. Sometimes, you can feel your way back. 🤍
