Say Hello to Dr. Andrew Sherwood!

We’re excited to welcome Dr. Andrew Sherwood, M.D., FRCPSc, to Surgical Specialists of Charlotte.

Dr. Sherwood brings decades of experience in vascular surgery, with training from the University of Toronto, Dalhousie University, and a fellowship in Halifax, Nova Scotia. He is passionate about improving patients’ quality of life through hands-on, problem-solving care.

Outside the operating room, Dr. Sherwood enjoys cycling, gardening, and is currently pursuing an Economics degree at the London School of Economics. He also has a deep interest in health economics and Christian theology.

He shares his life with his wife and children, and a Staffordshire dog, and is excited to join a team that shares his passion for patient care.

📣 Meet Dr. Natalie Merchant!

We’re thrilled to welcome Dr. Merchant to Surgical Specialists of Charlotte. She is a fellowship-trained General and Endocrine Surgeon with advanced expertise in thyroid, parathyroid, and adrenal surgery.

Dr. Merchant completed her fellowship at Yale School of Medicine and brings a passion for patient-centered care, minimally invasive techniques, and robotic surgery.

✨ Fun fact: Outside the OR, Dr. Merchant loves hiking with her family, reading, and cooking breakfast!

The Trauma Trotters crushed it at the Charlotte Marathon! 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️ Huge congrats to PA Austin Lipsey for completing the full marathon, Dr. Natalie Nowak, Dr. Hannah Phillips, and Dr. Dylan Skinner for dominating the half, and Dr. Weilbach and NP Derek Best for powering through the 5K. Amazing turnout and team spirit!
