I didn’t write this because I have life all figured out or because I think I’m some enlightened person here to give advice. And I definitely didn’t write it because being vulnerable comes naturally to me, but here we are! 😬

I wrote this because I’ve spent most of my life trying just about every path to find happiness, and not all of them led where I thought they would.

Not too long ago, I took a leap of faith and followed my intuition, starting over in every sense. It was uncomfortable, messy, and honestly terrifying, but I did it in the hope of creating a life that actually felt as good as it looked.

So many of us are conditioned to choose what looks right or what others expect, and that’s where we start to lose connection with what we actually want.

This book is about that. Stepping outside your comfort zone, embracing growth, and building a life that genuinely feels like your own.

I wrote it because I wish I had something like this when I was starting over, and I made a point to keep it short and conversational because I know how hard it can be to take anything in when you’re in that place.

If you read it, my hope is that you walk away remembering:
✹We are all more alike than we are different.
✹Your intuition is there for a reason.
✹And you only get one shot at this life, so you might as well start showing up for yourself. đŸ«¶đŸ»đŸ«¶đŸ»

đŸ’«Why change and stepping outside of your comfort zone feels so unsettling (according to science)đŸ‘‰đŸ»

You can hate your job, your relationship, even the place you live, yet the thought of changing it feels absolutely terrifying.

So we stay. We choose what’s familiar over what’s fulfilling. And slowly, that comfort turns into resentment. We start telling ourselves “life isn’t fair,” when really
we’re stuck in a pattern we’re afraid to interrupt.

What helped me was realizing my mind isn’t broken—or working against me. It’s doing exactly what it was designed to do.

From a neuroscience perspective, your brain is wired for predictability, not happiness. Familiar patterns require less energy and signal “safety” to your nervous system, even when those patterns are painful. When you consider change, your brain reads uncertainty as a threat, releasing stress hormones like cortisol and activating fear responses meant to protect you.

That discomfort you feel? That resistance? It’s not a sign you’re making the wrong choice.

It’s your nervous system adjusting to the unknown.

Growth often feels uncomfortable because it requires your brain to rewire old pathways and create new ones—and that process can feel scary, destabilizing, even painful at times.

So if you’re standing at the edge of a change and feeling frozen—or even terrified, nothing is wrong with you. Don’t misread it as a sign that you’re meant to stay where you are.

You’re human—learning to move through fear instead of letting it decide for you. And moving through the fear is where real change begins.

“You can’t have the life you want, without destroying the life you had”.

I love the way this is said but put a slightly less dramatic way

I believe when one door closes, another opens. But sometimes nothing opens because we never truly closed the old one.

We ask the universe for new beginnings while still gripping what’s familiar. Still doubting. Still delaying. Still half-choosing ourselves.

Energy needs commitment. Alignment requires release.

Some doors only open after complete surrender to what’s unknown and what’s uncomfortable.

If you’re waiting for clarity, this is your invitation to choose. To release what no longer fits, even when it feels uncomfortable. To stop asking for new doors while standing in old ones. Commitment is energy in motion—and when you fully let go, you create the space for what’s meant for you to finally find you. đŸ’«

3 Ways to Shift Energy When You’re Feeling Stuck đŸ„Ž

1. Control your breath đŸ’†đŸŒâ€â™€ïž
Inhale for 5, exhale for 5. Repeat at least 5 times. This signals your nervous system to move out of fight-or-flight and into rest-and-digest.

2. Get outside đŸƒâ˜€ïž
Nature is deeply regulating. A 30-minute walk outdoors can create noticeable shifts by helping the right and left sides of the brain communicate more effectively.

3. Practice gratitude đŸ™đŸŒ
Gratitude literally rewires the brain. When you’re stuck, start small—food in your fridge, a body that moves, the air you’re breathing—and let it build from there.
